2.0 out of 5 stars Dawn Rochelle:Four Novels by Lurlene Mcaniel
I really loved this series. Lurlene Mcdaniel really has a gift to allow her readers to feel what the characters are going through. Dawn Rochelle is a very strong girl and has gone throgh so much. I enjoyed reading about her romances, and cried as I read the pain she went through. I have read the first four books about Dawn and can't wait to read the last book. I highly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. What a great book, July 13, 2000
This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the Dawn Rochelle series. In book one, Dawn is a normal thirteen year old girl who finds out she has leukemia. She then goes through estensive care--which includes the horrible treatment of chemotherapy. Dawn battles her horrible disease, but with the help of her room mate, Sandy (who also has cancer). Then, Sandy gets sick again and Dawn doesnt know what to do. Find out from book one. Dawn continues with her life and turns fourteen. She has been in reimssion for almost a year. During the summer, she helps her brother with his marriage and attends a camp. But when she returns, she's not feeling well and find out that her cancer is no longer in remission. Find out in the 2nd series of the 4 books. Dawn is working at a camp for cancer children. She meets other counselors and children that are like her. She meets Marlee, a girl who picks on everyone. Dawn is determined to become friends with her. But when Marlee gets sick, Dawn helps her with every step of the way. Find out what happens with book 3. Dawn is now in highschool with a new crowd of people. She wants to try the new things that she's always wanted--as well as dating. Dawn is excited to find out her childhood crush comes back to the area and attends her school. But she's always afraid that her cancer will come back. Find out what happens to Dawn with this last book of the series. Read this set if you really like Lurlene McDaniel. I enjoyed it very much out of all her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dawn Rochelle, June 1, 2005
This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
The book I read is called Dawn Rochelle 4 novels. Its by Lurlene McDaniel. The book has many up and downs, and emotional. There are also some funny times, and romantic. Dawn Rochelle is thirteen when she is going threw the best times in her life. She popular, pretty, and just made the cheerleading squad. Till she finds out she has to get a check up.
"Dawn, you have cancer." The doctor tells her calmly.
They have her go threw chemotherapy till they can get the right blood type to get a bone marrow transplant. Her brothers the closes match, but he suppose to get married and his fiancée thinks its going to ruin the wedding plans.
When Dawns in the hospital she gets a roommate that ends up being her best friend threw out the book. The doctor recommends a camp for them both to go to. But Sandys not able to go because shes stuck in a difference hospital during the summer cause she ends up getting even worse threw out the book.
At camp Dawn meets two new friends. They make everything better for the whole summer and they do funny pranks on the directors and have romantic times by the fires with the one she thinks shes in love with. Days go by and camps over with.
You'll have to read the book to find out what else happens. Overall I would recommend this book because it's an engaging book.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is the BEST. It's the first book I read by Lurlene McDaniel, and made me continue reading her books. I have read several of her Wish books and The Angels Trilogy, but this is just AMAZING. It's sweet and touching, and well written. I definetly reccomend it, as long as you're ready for a lot of pain and sadness throughout the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This sounds familiar, December 9, 2002
This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
My Language Arts teacher gave me this book when I couldn't find anything to read. I read the back of the book and it was like deja vu... two years ago, when I was 11, I had a bone marrow transplant. We both even have red curly hair and freckles! It was really a great experience to know another girl just like me (albeit fictional) go through what I went through. I loved the books, and I can't wait to read To Live Again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book i have ever read, August 13, 2001

This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
This has to be the best and most touching book i have ever read. Dawn Rochelle at 13 has a hard time accepting that she has been diagnosed with luekemia. Through this 4 in 1 book series, she tells her 5 year battle with the deasease and the best friends she makes along the way. It shows the best caring relationship she has with her brother and how she feels about fitting it with her classmates after she has been through sickening treatments. It makes you want more books about Dawn! It even made me want to become a pediatric oncology nurse. So read this and I promise you'll like it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding! I love this books!, July 17, 2000
This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
I love all of Lurlene McDaniel's books(I've read them all loads of times), but the Dawn Rochelle quartet particularly sticks out in my mind. You find yourself so absorbed in these books that suddenly you are sitting in the doctors office with her, or in the chemo room, or pretty much everywhere else. I love the way these books make you feel glad for what you have, but also that anything can happen at any time, and that you have to live life to its fullest. Just when things look like they couldn't get worse Dawn meets Sandy. I loved how Ms. McDaniel made this friendship seem so realistic, they did lots of things normal kids did, but she also made them seem more grown up, like they were past the innocence of childhood. As Dawn became friends with Marlee sometimes it seemed like two normal kids, other times the differences between them and the regular world seemed to be almost insurmountable. Then as Dawn gets older she wants to forget about her cancer, and get on with her life, but she just can't seem to quite let go. I would reccomend this book to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book, December 11, 2002

This review is from: Dawn Rochelle, Four Novels: Six Months to Live/ I Want to Live/ So Much to Live For/ No Time to Cry (Mass Market Paperback)
Dear Readers,
... I enjoy reading books by Lurlene McDaniel. She is the best writer. Her words are like poetry to my ears, heart, and mind. These particular books are my favorite. I thought these was only four, of these series, but when I found out there was more I jumped for joy! Seriously they are the best books, with words that put you into another world. They are very good books and you should read every one of them. I used to not read at all, I hated it. Now I just can't stop! I have been only reading these books for about a month and am well on my way to achieving my goal of reading all of her books. I read about one a day, or sometimes even two. They are just easy to read and flow so smooth across the page. Well that is all for now and I hope you enjoy all of these wonderful books like I have and will to come.
Truly yours,
...
