Book Description

January 1, 1991
Wreythville's cemetery had rested quietly under South Holston Lake, but now the receding waters exposed an island of graves. And as the tombstones emerged, so did the unstaked dead that had been buried beneath them. Freed, the ancient breed of vampires arose with a frightful new power, seeking vengeance.

More About the Author

William 'Bill' Hill is a naturalized northern Nevadan, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and a product of many places and stories. Although not a military brat like Danny Chase of The Magic Bicycle, Bill has lived in numerous locales, including Prairie Village, KS; Bristol, TN; and around Dallas and Denton, TX; and in south and north Lake Tahoe, NV.
Bill first learned to read through superhero comic books, then spy-thrillers, Sci-Fi and finally fantasy novels, tucked in among the required classic readings. He has earned 'serious' degrees from Vanderbilt University in Economics and Business Management and a MBA from the University of North Texas, as well as certifications in Outdoor Emergency Care.
Since realizing that writing was his best talent and a gift, Bill escaped the restrictive drudgery of the corporate world to craft his tales. Along with working in Human Resources, Bill has been employed as an 'alchemist' in South Lake Tahoe, a ski patroller at Diamond Peak in Incline Village, NV, and a sports official in Douglas County.
Bill, his lovely wife, Kat, and their wonderful son, Brin, live in the shadow of the eastern Sierra and on the high desert of the south Carson Valley. Bill intends to write imaginative fiction and fantasy until dirt is shoveled upon his coffin.

5.0 out of 5 stars To sum it up in one word... AWESOME!!!, January 30, 2001
By
This review is from: Dawn Of The Vampire (Paperback)
Hill's outstanding use of diction breathes life into his characters! The way he describes them and their feelings have you believing that you actually know them personally and understand the way they feel. He brings your imagination to life with "Dawn of the Vampire", painting a detailed picture of the scenery in your mind's eye. He grips your attention and continues to hold onto it tightly with both hands not letting go until the novel is completed. Unable to put the book down I was drained when I finished it, but only because it takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, touching on every feeling one can have, including fear, happiness and even love! This book has inspired me to read other works from William Hill, as well as pray that a "Dawn of the Vampire" sequel is written by Hill. In my opinion, it would make one heck of a movie. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the horror genre. Well done William Hill, Bravo!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought the book was excellent, October 21, 1998
This review is from: Dawn Of The Vampire (Paperback)
Living in the Tri-cities area of East Tn. it was amazing to find a book actually set here. Mr. Hill is very vivid in his description of the Appalachian Mountains and South Holston Lake; and having grown up in both I can honestly say that it was hard to venture out after dark for a while after reading his book.

The characters really come alive. Mr. Hill does a great job of bringing out the little details that make an image form in your head. All and all I'd have to recommend the book to anyone who enjoys the creatures of the dark and secretly wishes they could join them.

My family on my grandmothers side were buried in the cemetary that was under south holston lake before they built the lake...the author did a wonderful job of describing the terrain and places around here...i enjoyed the book very much...i read it when it first came out...although my granny had a cow over the fact that the author alluded that her kin were vampires i still loved the book....
