To sum it up in one word... AWESOME!!!,

Hill's outstanding use of diction breathes life into his characters! The way he describes them and their feelings have you believing that you actually know them personally and understand the way they feel. He brings your imagination to life with "Dawn of the Vampire", painting a detailed picture of the scenery in your mind's eye. He grips your attention and continues to hold onto it tightly with both hands not letting go until the novel is completed. Unable to put the book down I was drained when I finished it, but only because it takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, touching on every feeling one can have, including fear, happiness and even love! This book has inspired me to read other works from William Hill, as well as pray that a "Dawn of the Vampire" sequel is written by Hill. In my opinion, it would make one heck of a movie. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the horror genre. Well done William Hill, Bravo!!!

I thought the book was excellent,

Living in the Tri-cities area of East Tn. it was amazing to find a book actually set here. Mr. Hill is very vivid in his description of the Appalachian Mountains and South Holston Lake; and having grown up in both I can honestly say that it was hard to venture out after dark for a while after reading his book. The characters really come alive. Mr. Hill does a great job of bringing out the little details that make an image form in your head. All and all I'd have to recommend the book to anyone who enjoys the creatures of the dark and secretly wishes they could join them.

This is a fantastic vampire book!! This is about a cemetery that was buried under water. A master vampire is then let lose on the world. His plan is to raise other vampires and feed on humanity. By the way, this vampire and others like him can walk and feed during they day.Troy grew up in a small town and had several close friends. One os them is missing. Troy returns to his hometown, reunites with this friends to look for his missing buddy. Troy and his friends are thrusted into the world of Vampires, and must become slayers... This book has to many plot twists, the reader can't help but to br glued to Dawn of the Vampire. Hill is his wonderful stoyteller and has a great grasp of what great vampire fiction should be. If you start it, I dare you to try and put it down. You won't be sorry.

This review is from: Dawn Of The Vampire (Paperback)
My aunt told me about this book and I had to read it being the horror fan I am. The more I read the more it freaked me out because I know every place that was menchioned where I live on South Holston Lake and never the less I get a creepy feeling when me and my friends are out on jet ski around those places. Anyway it was a wonderful book.

This review is from: Dawn Of The Vampire (Paperback)
This was a great read from the get-go. I really enjoyed the story line...it was original and fun. The adventure-loving childhood friends searching for their missing buddy, only to find he has been taken by vampires made me not want to put this book down until I was finished. A very good book!

Nothing Will Stop Them Now! A Superior Vampire novel,
By
This review is from: Dawn Of The Vampire (Paperback)
This was a superior vampire novel about a group of childhood friends who's simple reunion becomes a terrifying battle to the death against a group of day-walking vampires! Troy Bane is searching for his friend Dillion, who has disappeared while investigating a local murder. What Troy and friends do find is terror as they fight for survival against Von Damme and his army of day-walking vampires.Hill's gripping vampire novel has scenes of plot twists, sinister atmosphere and plenty of gruesome and bloody action sequences such as pitch battle between our heroes and some bloodthirsty wolves!Another thing I love is how Hill's plot twists like two sets of competing vampire groups. I also love how the author creates nearly unstoppable vampires who are not stopped by daylight or religious objects like crosses. I look forward to the author's next vampire novel!

Worth a re-read!,

Nick, the University Book Store's leading expert on fright books, plays, films, etc. recommended this book to me a few years ago. I read it with enthusiasm and gave it away. It is well plotted and would make a great movie.I rarely re-read mass market paperbacks, but have purchased this book to read again -- it's that gripping, atmospheric, and well written! I would give this book five stars, but have reserved them only for one classic: Dracula, by Bram Stoker.
