"DAWN OF WAR, book one of the trilogy is Tim Marquitz's first foray into fantasy fiction and he has done an exceptional job.  There is a lot going on and there are many points of view to follow but Marquitz keeps it all tight and easy to follow.  Character development is very good, keeping each race of people easily identifiable.  This first book introduces the various points of view and ends on just the proper note, leaving the reader wanting to read more.  I'm not generally big on fantasy, but I enjoyed DAWN OF WAR immensely.  I think you will, too." ~ Colleen Wanglund - Horror Fiction Review

I have read quite a few works by Tim Marquitz and Dawn of War certainly reaches that high standard that I have seen in his other books. This is Marquitz's first attempt at Epic Fantasy and it's a very good one, the writing is of the highest standard, the characters are interesting and relatable, and the story is deep and complex.

I had a few issues with the continual rotation of viewpoints, and I think there were too many viewpoint characters introduced at the start of the book, but once you get through the first third of the book, Dawn of War settles into a more natural rhythm and really becomes a joy to read. If you like epic fantasy then you will like this.

I was introduced to this author through the Demon Squad series where I really liked the way the author weaved humor in all his narrations. Was quite intrigued to know how Tim handles a completely different genre.

Unlike the Demon Squad series, this book has quite a serious undertone to it. Although, the story gets predictable at times, but the narration still holds you to it. Where Demon Squad was pure unadulterated entertainment from start to finish, this book does have its ups and downs. While it is really a 3* book for me but considering that Tim has been very generous by letting the readers get a free copy (this is available on Amazon kindle for $0), I think this book definitely deserves a 4*. If you liked Tim's Demon Squad series then this book is definitely a MUST READ!!

Will look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I could not put this book down, even though there is quite a few points of view the author really keeps you hanging by the seat of your pants, waiting to find out what happens at each turn of the page. The main character is a badass but so are most of the other supporting characters as well. In this book your imagination can take hold of some radically different bizarre creatures and features of the world. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.
