Yup, Erin Hunter's done it again. This new addition has given readers no more or less then they expected; a completely staisfying read, DAWN follows the five remaining heros and Leafpaw exactly where we left off.

The book begins with a shattering discovery; the Twolegs, who had been destroying the forest at alarming rates, cut down the fourtrees. Every Clan, already weakened by starvation, took this as a sign that Starclan had deserted them. Then Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Tawnypelt, Crowpaw, and Stormfur return, bringing hope and news that not all the Clans accept. Leopardstar in particular refuses to leave the forest when the Twolegs have gone nowhere near her territory.

Meanwhile, ThunderClan has more pressing matters to deal with. It soon becomes apparent that Brambleclaw is not the only one with strange dreams; Squirrelpaw, after a night-time visit by Spottedleaf, she and a patrol of ThunderClan cats are able to rescue Leafpaw, Cloudtail, and the other trapped Clan cats (including a kittypet that just might become one). Unfourtunantly, their victory is not unhindered; they lose Graystripe to the Twolegs.

Finally, all the clans agree to travel together. With the help of 'a dying warrior' - though not the sort anycat expected - the cats, now one bedraggled clan, make their way over the mountains.

It's great to see the characters mature, and the relationship between Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw is predictable but heartwarming. There is also the reappearance of the Tribe of Rushing Water, first seen in MOONRISE, and of Brook, a tribe she-cat that stole Stormfur's heart. Together the Clan cats face death, love, loss, and struggle with loyalties.

Hope is a big theme this book; the hope of the Clan cats, struggling as they never have before to find a place where they belong and can reside in peace. I cannot reccomend it more highly.

As usual with the Warriors books, Dawn picks up right where Moonrise left off: The questing cats are just now returning home with their news that the four Clans must leave their forest home in search of a new one. But many things are holding them back, including the fact that three ThunderClan cats have been taken by Twolegs, including Squirrelpaw's sister Leafpaw. As the Twolegs destroy more and more of the forests, the Clans reluctantly realize that they have to work together and search for a new home as one Clan.

You get Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw's point of view from this book, which is good, because you finally get to see that Squirrelpaw really is one of the questing cats, and not just the annoying appentice that she was in previous books. Her relationship with Brambleclaw, which blossomed all the way back in Midnight, grows more in this book. There is also more about the rest of the ThunderClan cats that were so important in the previous series and were before just background in The New Prophecy. Also, Firestar makes a comeback from the father figure he was turned into in Midnight. In Dawn you get to see more of the hero that he was as the main character in the first series. The Tribe cats also return, and a new kittypet character, a friend of Leafpaw's, is introduced here.

All in all, Dawn is the best of the New Prophecy series, and I recommend as much as any of the other Warriors book. Like many others, I'm now awaiting Starlight, the next book in the series.

This was such a good book! I mean literally, I think Im the first person in my hometown to read, if not get, this book. i was posed at the bookstore at nine o clock. well, anyway this was an amazing book. second only to the darkest hour, the explorers come back with the news that thaey have to leave. everybody in thunderclan was more than willing, but they still felt the rifts between the clan strongly and they risked leaving certain cats behind. leafpaw is trapped in a cage, and squirrelpaw will risk anything to get her out. a certain cat is lost and may be dead or turned into a kittypet! i felt like i wanted to kill those people 4 destroying the forest becaus erin hunter did such a good job portraying the feelings of these cats. so please, get this book. you'll love it!

once again, erin hunter astonishes you with another great read of everyones favorite forest cats. so far, hunter brings her darkest chapter to the new series that never holds back anything. i think thats why these things are so good, cause hunter never holds back and will do anything for a good read. after a long journey, the five cats have returned home to find it completly ravaged by the twolegs. now all they have to do is one thing...convince the clans to leave the forest. but doing this is beyond maddness when the clans have lived her for so many years. and how could they convince four waring clans to come when they dont even know were to go? riverclan refuses to leave and shadowclan wishes to go solo, even that cinderpelts ominous warning still rings for each clan. not only that but what about the missing cats? leafpaw can only wait inside her twoleg prison hoping for a miracle. can they convince them all to leave there home? or is it already to late? read this great read, for when your done you would be drooling for starlight, the next in the new series.

I must say: bravo to Erin Hunter (truly two seperate authors.) Very good. A for-sure crowd pleaser. It certainly pleased me.

This book follows the adventures of the cats from the very begining, however it centers mainly around five new and very vivid characters: Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Crowfeather, Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw. After the sad disaster at the end of the second book (I'll neglect to mention what really happens so as not to spoil anything) the cats are back and their clans are getting into order as they hvae to travel to new and unexpected territories, fighting against the bitter cold winter as they go.

Brambleclaw is mostly like the leader, like Firestar from the earlier series. He is tough and strong hearted, and his emotions ofr Squirrelpaw are quite clear. He can be moody sometimes, but I think he is mostly more worried about the impressin he gives to other cats then anything else, and then the fact that he has to deliver four clans through freezing mountains with barely any time to spare.

Tawnypelt is Brambleclaw's ill tempered sister. However, she may be ill tempered but she is also very loyal and can be gentle when it is required. I find her exceptionally amusing at certain parts during the book, but not as amusing as listening to Squirrelpaw and Crowfeather argue.

Speaking of Crowfeather, he's mostly the moody one; and after the recent disaster his tight, sharp-tongued former self has returned. He is quite put into sorrow throughtout this book, so it doesnt' center much around him.

Lastly Squirrelpaw, who often argues with Crowfeather. They are both opposites; except for the fact that they are both exeptionally moody. Squirrelpaw has accumulated a close bond with Brambleclaw, and she is very loyal to him, as is quite obvious.

Last but not least Leafpaw, the medicine cat, who holds upon her shoulders a great weight of responsibility. She can be quite timid but is very loyal and responsible. She is also very truthful with her mentor, Cinderpelt, with whom she has grown very fond despite her sharp tongue.

Very good books. If you haven't read them, get right to it. Don't even pause or hesitate despite what you might have heard. These books are great. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very intresting and like always I couldn't put it down!The adventurous cats have returned to there clans now but its not really easy to convince them to come to the new land. All the cats wait for the dead warrior that was a sign to show them to their new land but it didn't came and now the cats are more unimpressed.Many want to stay to there home but will the humans destory their forest soon if they don't? Or will they stay as sacrifices will be made? And what about Leafpaw or the other cats missing? A great book and a must read so READ IT NOW!!!!!!!

This is a great book. If you have any interest at all in the Warriors series, read it. Though you should probably read Midnight and Moonrise first, otherwise it will be pretty confusing. 'Erin Hunter' managed to keep it suspensful and detailed, and nothing was completly straightforward. I could picture each scene pretty well, too. It's keeping me waiting for Starlight.

In this book, the cats chosen by Star Clan finish their journey and return to total disaster. The Twolegs have destroyed everything,including fourtrees,and the returning cats aren't exactly given a warm welcome. All but River Clan are half starved,hardly cats fit for travel. Not to include the clans whose leaders refuse to go at all.

Leafpaw, on the other hand has been captured by Twolegs and is despratly trying to escape. Even if there was some way of getting away,would Leafpaw even have a home to return to?
