Janalyn Voigt's unique blend of adventure, romance, suspense, and fantasy creates worlds of beauty and danger for readers. Beginning with DawnSinger, her epic fantasy series, Tales of Faeraven, carries the reader into a land only imagined in dreams. Fantasy readers who enjoyed Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis, The Chronicles of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, or The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) trilogy by JRR Tolkien are sure to like DawnSinger.

A headstrong young princess and the guardian sworn to protect her fly on winged horses to the Gate of Life above the Well of Light in a desperate bid to release the DawnKing, and the salvation he offers, into a divided land. Will they each learn in time that sometimes victory comes only through surrender?

Editorial Reviews

Review

Janalyn Voigt is a fresh voice in the realm of fantasy. Her writing is crisp, her verbs muscular, and it's all wrapped up in a lyrical style. Blending action and romance, DawnSinger is a journey through fear, failure, and faith, and I look forward to its sequel. Eric Wilson, NY Times bestselling author of Valley of Bones and One Step Away

In DawnSinger, Janalyn Voigt has penned a novel full of surprises. With adventure, mystery, and an unlikely romance, this beautiful, epic fantasy debut will leave you scrambling for the next book in the trilogy. Jill Williamson, Christy Award-winning author of By Darkness Hid

DawnSinger is a delightful fantasy spun with bardic prose and threaded with danger and intrigue. Linda Windsor, author of HealerThief and Rebel, Brides of Alba Historical Trilogy

Janalyn Voigt builds an exciting world, tranquil on the surface but filled with danger, ancient enemies, and a prophecy yet to be fulfilled. DawnSinger leads you into a land only imagined in dreams. I can't wait to read the second book in the Tales of Faeraven trilogy. Lisa Grace, best-selling author of the Angel in the Shadows series.

From the Author

My Tales of Faeraven series, of which DawnSinger is book one, began as a story to entertain my little girl during a drive. For the main character of my story, I twisted the name of her doll, Cinda, and came up with "Syl Marinda."  Long after my daughter had forgotten that first story, the world of Elderland took shape in my mind. I could picture its trees, creatures, and landscapes. As time passed, the characters deepened and grew, and so did the struggles of the alliance of Faeraven, a group of kingdoms unified under a high ruler. Through several attempts, I tried to record the story as it unfolded for me, but I kept backing up in time because much of the history in the story demanded to be told.  Syl Marinda doesn't enter the scene now until close to the end of WayFarer, book two in the series. Each book would tell a separate but connected tale to advance the epic struggle of Elderland itself. These intertwined story arcs, including the one with Shae and Kai, resolve at the end of the series.

More About the Author

It happened over time. My father instilled a love of literature in me at an early age when he read chapters from "The Wizard of Oz," "Robinson Crusoe" and other classics. When I grew older, and he stopped reading bedtime stories, I put myself to sleep with tales I "wrote" in my head. As a precocious reader, I soon graduated to the novels in my parent's bookcase. I'm sure those books contributed to my growth as a writer. My sixth-grade teacher noticed my storytelling ability. As a result of his encouragement, I identified my desire to write novels.

DawnSinger is my debut novel and the first offering in Tales of Faeraven. WayFarer (Tales of Faeraven 2) is in production and I'm working on book three in the series. Read an excerpt at http://buff.ly/XxNyUx Learn more about my books and about me at my website: http://janalynvoigt.com

I also write western romance novels, and will publish in that genre under Janalyn Irene Voigt. I am represented by Wordserve Literary. I serve as a judge for several national literary contests and am an Amazon top book reviewer. My memberships include ACFW and NCWA.

I live in a beautiful corner of the Pacific Northwest. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and finding adventures in the great outdoors. I dream of owning a horse, exploring all the national parks, and visiting European castles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story! June 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Love and duty...faith and trust...all wrapped up to make this quest one of discovery. What a phenomenal story. Well written like the best in fantasy - certainly a match for Tolkien and the best of this genre.

Ms. Voigt has woven a tale that carries you along on the wind of the journey. You'll smile and laugh and cry and gasp at times as she guides you on this quest along with Shae and Kai.

Excellent story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Like a Renaissance Fair June 26, 2012
Format:Paperback
I read DawnSinger by Janalyn Voigt and felt like I was at a Renaissance Fair that had a time-travel capsule in which I boarded and was taken back into the Era to an adventure that I never wanted to end. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. Janalyn captured the heart and the language of the characters. I will forever long to ride on a Wingabeast with Kai and Shea.
