5.0 out of 5 stars A locomotive without breaks, November 29, 1999
I read this on the recommendation of a friend, and as I found out, they were a very GOOD friend. I have NEVER EVER found a book that was launched into action as quickly as this...IF by chance YOU know of one that does, PLEASE e-mail me and let me know. WOW! I can't TELL you how many times my jaw was opened in awe of the sheer speed this plot takes, and how fantastic it all was, but through it all you were persuaded to suspend your belief and just take it all in just because it was bloody good fun. The very last verse alone is worth the price of the book--but PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T read it in advance and spoil it. A GREAT story and a GREAT book. Unfortunately his 2nd novel 'Day of Confession' wasn't as compelling, but still it was entertaining. Check this book out and clear away your schedules, especially if you are a slow reader, 'cuz you WON'T want to put it down. Folsom has written a book that Ludlum MIGHT have written in HIS prime had his career started in the early 90's instead of the early 70's. TRUST me, that's high praise indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the all-time great page-turners, August 2, 2005

Just an unbelievable story from beginning to end. Make sure to pick it up on a weekend and don't make any plans until you're finished. Great plot twists, engaging characters, and an all-around thriller throughout. I would say it's similar in structure to the Da Vinci Code, with short chapters and multiple plot twists; in comparison, though, I preferred The Day After Tomorrow...maybe my favorite novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book you can't put down., July 10, 2004
You know you are reading a good book when you glance at the clock and see that it's 2am and don't care that you have to get up for work in four hours. The Day After Tommorrow is one of those books. It is a myserious and fast-paced thriller that can stand up to the best works of Ludlum. This is a definite must-have for any political/espionage thriller lover.
