Excellent story about the area and the people,
This review is from: Day the Barn Almost Burned: And Other Stories of Deep South Plantation Life in the 1940s (Paperback)
This book was a really great depiction of this are in this time in history. My father would always tell my brothers and myself stories of the town called Finchburg where he grew up, and this book brought this past to life for us moreso. The day the barn almost burned will definitely always have a special place in our library.
