This review is from: The Day of the Beast (Paperback)
Zane Grey's personal disgust with the "modern woman" drinking and smoking after the war is reflected in the disillusionment of a returned war veteran. After fighting to protect the U.S. homes and females, he finds values radically changed. Gives a good look at the sudden culture changes.

Nothing is new under the sun. This could be true now, To think this was written about 1920 is amazing it just goes to show how people haven't changed. The story is about a young man who returns from WW1 after being in battle for 3 years many battle scars and emotional wounds. Coming home was a dream that turned into a nightmare. It was written in ZG great style but it is not a western, but I really enjoyed it.
