Nice, but not as pretty as the 2009 version,

I have used the Andrews McMeel desk calendars as daily journals for a couple of years, and always loved them, so I ordered the 2010 edition without a second thought. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed in it. It's okay, but not nearly as beautiful as those of previous years.
The cover, paper, and ribbon marker are of nice quality, but the design is very plain, and there are no full color illustrations or endpapers as there were in previous editions. Seasonal divider pages have black and white botanical illustrations and are printed on pages that look like antique ledger pages, which is a nice touch. The design is plain enough that it might work for a man's journal or for someone who likes a very plain look. I think I'm going to look for something else for myself.

I too have used the Andrews McMeel desk calendars as daily journals for a couple of years and was pleased to give away many as gifts. The recipients were always surprised by the quality, attention to detail and the beauty of the book. They were so very different then anything else out there. They were the most beautiful I had ever purchased until this year. I ordered 2 this year (one of each offered) and am disappointed with both. They are just okay, not nearly as beautiful as those of previous years. My favorite was the Seasons 2008 Calendar.
The cover, paper, and ribbon marker are of nice quality, but the colors don't really match up within each book. The books look like they were put together from remnants. The design seems rather half-hearted as well, and there are no full color illustrations or endpapers as there were in previous editions. I also do not like the design or the choice of colors for dates on each page. I hope the 2011 calendars reflect the previous quality and attention to detail. I will not buy online again. I will need to hold the calendar in my hands before making my decision.

A dear friend had this and I went nuts trying to find one at a bookstore - so happy to find it available here on Amazon. Love the quality and I fell in love with it because it looks just like the antique journals from early 1900's found at my great aunt's family home - quite authentic not only visually but the feel of the paper is quite impressive.

Andrews McMeel has calendar printing errors,

And they do not stand by their products. If you have a defective product and use "the wrong language" this will not replace that product. Be warned.

I love this series of day books - I've bought them the last three years. I love the retro feel of them with the old ledger binding, the collage artwork, the quotations, the ribbon - everything. I use them as much for art as a calendar. I only wish they came with a large envelope in back for stray papers, but I might just paste one in myself. Already looking forward to next year's edition. This particular version (2010) is a bit more spartan looking, more masculine, but I don't mind.

I so enjoy this calendar. I first used one of these in '09 and now I can't see using anything else - the size is perfect for me and I love the quotes scattered throughout. If you have a heart for the old time look and feel of a book in hand - you will love this calendar. The orginial hand-held device!

Very nice looking - fits in with my decor eliminating distracting unsightly hanging calendars -- but yet still able to reference it daily -- lots of room to write your lists, commitments and reminders --- highly recommend
