Product Description

Day By Day is Yolanda Adams' truest testimonial of perseverance and faith to date. Inspirational messages, mixed with melody and praise, this album promises to be a record you will treasure. From 'Alwaysness' and 'Be Blessed', both produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, to title track 'Day By Day', Yolanda takes you through a journey of life. Atlantic. 2005.

It is possible that there are singers alive today with more passion, conviction and beauty than Yolanda Adams working in gospel today, but it's doubtful. It's been a full four years since the glory-giving soprano has released a new album of her own music, and it's actually worth the wait. The banging funk tunes are tight and righteous, while the ballads will knock you clean off your feet. There are a host of guest artists on Day By DayMary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, and others, as well as a half dozen of the hottest producers around. And all of that is cool, but none of them are really that necessary. This woman truly has been blessed with enormous talent, and she uses it judiciously and wisely. In fact, Day By Day is easily the best contemporary gospel album of 2005. --Mike McGonigal

Very inspirational and uplifting.

Personally, this comes at a time when I'm facing one of the toughest seasons of my life and each song is ministering to me.

I thought her last album was good, but I have to say this one is great and exceeded my expectations.

Being autistic and so disabled in many other ways it is not often that I get the real true and profound meaning of most religious songs. Yet I get the full meaning and spiritual impact of Victory perfectly clear. The fact that Victory's story speaks profoundly to issues of faith in a direct context that frames the issues and challenges I either face today or lived through in the past is what makes Victory awesome. The words are beautiful as sung on this CD by this obviously God inspired and Jesus blessed woman on a christian mission lifts this CD up making it a transcending experience to the glory of Almighty God! I cried like a baby listening to the sheer unbridled strength, power and passion she invested in every individual syllable in this song. There is not a single word or vocal intonation wasted in Victory it is ALL GOOD!

I have never enjoyed a religous song more. Ms. Adams sings this song as if she really lived its lyrics. She sings Victor in such a way that it is as if voice comes from your own heart and life experiences in Jesus name. I think anyone who has attempted to live their christian life fully can see themselves in the powerful words of Victory and are moved by how Yolanda Adams heightens their meaning with her voice. I am sure the rest of the CD is as awesome as Victory but just hearing Victory alone forced me to buy this CD it is just that good! Victory is so good it all but stops my heart to hear her sing those GOD inspired words.

Thank you Yolanda Adams you are a life long blessing to me by creating this testimonial to the greatness of Almighty God and Jesus with your beuatiful vocal instrument. Your efforts strengthened my heart on my own christian journey and this CD will do the same for anyone whose heart is open to love.

First of all, WOWZA! Welcome back Yolanda Adams. 4 Years - thought you retired...LOL! (smile everyone). Anywho, on to business. Yolanda has NEVER been the type of artist to place in a box. She's never been afraid to deal with issues on her cds. From the Through the Storm cd, she dealt with death on Forever with me...from the Save the Word cd, she dealt with homelessness on Save the Word and suicide on Give it to Him...from the More Than A Melody cd, she challenged us to consider the children...from the Songs From the Heart cd, she dealt with loneliness on Never Alone...from Mountain High, Valley Low she dealt with our everyday interactions with The Things We Do and on Believe she dealt with low-self esteem and pursuing your dreams on I Gotta Believe and Never Give Up respectively. Well, on DAY BY DAY, Yolanda tackles something we all have, PAIN! This cd is for those who have been through the storm, are in a storm or will be in one soon. Personally, this comes at a time when I'm facing one of the toughest seasons of my life and each song is ministering to me. Day By Day is arguably Yolanda's best (I'm torn between Mountain High, Valley Low and Through the Storm). Let's see where we begin.

Track One - VICTORY is the rocking contemporary gospel opener which reunites Yolanda with producer Gregory Curtis (produced God Will Take Care of You from Songs of the Heart and Just A Prayer Away from Through the Storm). This is tied for my favorite on the cd! From the time Yolanda sang it on TBN's Praise the Lord or from the time I saw the preview for the movie The Gospel, this song rings in my ear. It's a triumphant song that gets in your mind and challenges you to believe God at any cost!

Track Two - TONIGHT is penned and produced by Gospel Mega-Man Kirk Franklin.

What a pleasant surprise! I was skeptical when purchasing this cd. I was thinking it would be too "over the top" for my taste. I was so wrong!! This cd is amazing. Yolanda Adams' voice is still commanding, the songs are beautiful, and she returns in top form. Yolanda and CeCe have released the two best gospel cds I've heard in a while. Welcome back!

I bought this album earlier in the year when it was released, played it a couple times, usually "Victory" and couldn't get into the rest of it. Then this past month I faced bitter trials and dissapointment, and I gave it another try ... all I can say is WOW!. This album is a Word in Due Season for anyone facing the same. I have never come across an album where each song, one after the other, spoke more and more to my situation as this one has. It is the ultimate encouragement CD.

Yolanda is back! The theme of this latest offering is gratitude and victory. It is no secret that within the last few years, Ms. Adams' marriage was challenged and even though the challenge, Yolanda expresses her victorious faith here with a fervor and vigor that only the Holy Spirit can grant. She accepts production help on this CD from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, as well as "Big Jim" Wright. Sure to catch your attention is "Victory", "Be Blessed", "Tonight" written by and featuring her "homeboy", Kirk Franklin, the inspiring "Lift Him Up", featuring dear friends, Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary and last, but not least, one of favorite songs (originally performed as a duet in the mid 90's with Crystal Lewis), "This Too Shall Pass." Yolanda has given us many passionate projects over the years, but this one paints, for you and I, a more definitive picture of what exists in the heart of the reigning Princess of Gospel music.
