Most of this is typical spy thriller stuff, but the last act really saves it. Unlikely allies join forces in a large-scale, nigh epic battle. The writing style isn't the best, there's a lot of little grammatical and stylistic errors, but the narrative is fairly engaging, and Blaine McCracken's superman status isn't as bad as it becomes in later books.

Jon Land throws you into a hidden world of international politics and a desire to take over the world. The veteran hero, Blaine McCraken, ends up in the middle of all this by mistake and now is the only chance we have. If you are looking for a classic spy/action book, this is it! Sit down and don't expect to get up until you finish this one.
