I was attracted to the cute cover of this book and thought my kids would like the story line of a dog that dressed like a dad...especially since we have a dog of our own. My 7 and 9 year old girls giggled out loud and LOVED this story. If you're looking for a bedtime story that ends the day with a smile, I'd recommend this book to anyone.

Gee, real fun and witty. (No wonder, as of this writing, there are 68 used copies for sale, worth just a handful of dimes.)

At least that's the view from someone out here in fly-over country.

Although only 4, my daughter thought this book was the funniest thing she had ever read. Who ever heard of the family pet doing all the things Dad should be doing?? The illustrations are wonderful, and the story will appeal to kids of all ages. In a child's world of vivid imagination, this book fits in perfectly! I can't wait to pick more up for holiday gifts!

I was going down to Manhatttan Beach to spend the day with my 8 year old niece, and stopped in to B&N to pick up a book for her as a present.
The hilarious illustration on the cover of the Day the Dog Dressed Like Dad caught my eye immediately. Proimos' drawing style and zany stories were big favorites at home with my (now teenage) daughter when she was growing up. The Loudness of Sam was brilliant. And if you never snuggled up with Joe's Wish, you and your little one are missing out. So I bought a copy of "Dog" for Pheobe, and browsed through it. I loved it so much I decided to keep it and bring it home for my own daughter's enjoyment, so here I am on Amazon ordering another copy for my niece. Amico and Proimos have created a memorable story, funny (accessible) writing for both kids and adults to share together, and a fantastic illustrative style that makes this book a classic.

Dad's out of town for the day, and the dog comes downstairs dressed exactly like dad! Mom, brother and sister experience a highly unusual day. The dog acts like dad in many ways-"he woke up grouchy and demanded some grub"-but unlike him in others. He chased a cat, for example.

Kids who like zany books will get a kick out of this silly work by two friends who were inspired to create it after realizing they had both dressed just like their dads that day.

my daughter loves this book and i love reading it to her. i can't wait for her to be able to read it to me in a couple years.

At last a children's story with the wry wit and humor adults can love as well! My daughter Amy squealed with laughter over the illustrations and narration. A "doggone" good book to read with your little ones!
