I have this one on vinyl and the disc is quite superb, nice playing by the roots radics, mixing, melodica and vocals...the b side of the disc, street life and english woman, is especially strong. the disc works of a real city feel, worth the price, especially as a lesser known plate.

5.0 out of 5 stars memoirs that mash, June 19, 2008

There's nothing like listening to a good album. Before the age of singles and downloadable tracks, artists made albums that sometimes had themes but were always meant to be listened to and appreciated as a whole. "Day to Day Living" is just that. The Roots Radics does an excellent job of making each track relate and connect to each other cohesively while still allowing Don Carlos to explore different moods and topics as we follow him through an average day in his life in Waterhouse. From the lover's rock cuts to the social commentary rasta joints, Don Carlos's voice is an easy narrative to slip into and the album never loses that mellow vibe.

Although Don Carlos has an interesting solo career, being most prolifiic during the dancehall era, albums like "Day to Day Living" exemplify that golden age roots sound that is missed so much.
