I love this whole series. This book is the one that first made me want to hike in the Central Cascade areas. They have color maps of where the hike is located plus a cheat sheet in the front of the main draws of the hike (wildflowers, waterfalls, views etc) which is so helpful on top of in-depth information on the hike and tips for hiking in the area in the front! I would recommend any of the books in the series for anyone wanting to hike in the PNW

I've read lots of hiking guidebooks, and this one by far gives the best information. Depending on what type of hike you're looking for, this guidebook breaks it down for you (scenery, degree of difficulty, maps you may need, time of year the hike is best). You'll never accidentally end up on a hike too hard, or too easy, and you'll always know what to expect before leaving the house. This is a must-have for any hiker or backpacker. Thanks, Craig!

As one of my favorite guidebook authors, Craig Romano can count this book as another successful venture. Concise without missing details, and with clear directions not only for the trails themselves but for reaching the trail heads as well, along with tips on things to look out for, this book was a perfect selection for me, my family, and my hiking group (PNW Leisure Hiking). Since I live in the Central Puget Sound region, I'd been struggling to find easier day-hikes for us to try that were closer to our area (as opposed to North and South Cascades, the Olympic Peninsula, and the Columbia River Gorge areas), and this book fit the need perfectly! This is now one of the first books I reach for as I schedule out into 2011!
