This record has left me nearly speachless...,

Wow, truly. I am a big fan of Bart Davenport, but besides that fact, this is something ever so different and special. This is the darkest, grooviest, and most beautiful album I have heard in years. From beginning to end it is masterful... Just put in on repeat and let it go... lose yourself in it...

The band may consist of only three musicians, but the songs they create have a rich, complex, unique sound. In fact, it would be pretty hard to classify Honeycut into any single musical genre, as they blend elements of hip-hop, electronic, jazz, soul, blues, and rock into their own, distinct style. Bart Davenport sings gracefully and confidently, while keyboardist RV Salters plays funky, yet soulful, tunes. Finally, Tony Sevener's drum machine adds quitessential old-school beats to the whole affair.
"Shadows" is probably my favorite song of the bunch, followed closely by the title track and "Aluminum City," the only instrumental track. The entire CD is mixed very well, and you could listen to it several times over in one sitting without getting bored. Buy this album!

Dopest shizz I have heard in years!,

This cd is simply amazing. I learned about these guys on current TV a couple weeks ago and ever since I have been completely addicted.
This is very smart music; complex, smooth and heavy beats with genuine lyrics that give me the chills. I especially like "tough kid". I listen to it when I walk and I feel like there are explosions under my feet with every step. Remember walking down the street with staying alive cranking? Well it's like that X100. Honeycut is the first NEW group that I have really been able to get excited about in a very long time.

I purchased this CD because I am big fan of the General Elektriks and more specifically the keyboardist Hervé Salters. The music is pretty good. More interestingly, you can see the development (in progress) that Hervé (RV) brings over to the General Elektriks. If you are a fan of the General Elektriks, you will probably enjoy this disc.

I've always felt like the best albums are ones that incorporate several different genres of sounds. "The Day I turned to Glass" does exactly that, including funk, electronic, jazz, and alternative. Hands down one of the best albums that I have ever listened to in my life (it has has remained on my most played list for the past two years) and is most highly recommended. If your interested in this check out RV Salters side project the General Elektriks.
