Editorial Reviews

Here is the seventh and final reissue from THE QUEERS. "A Day Late..." collects thirty-four songs culled from old singles, EPs and compilation tracks. Straight from the mouth of Joe Queer himself: "It's really cool that all the old Queers songs have finally been compiled onto one release cause it's always been the way I hoped it would be. Of course that was back in '83, but things always did take a little longer than expected when the Queers were involved." --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

This was the Queers with Wimpy Rutherford. Edgy. Fun.
This is the kind of CD you want to listed to when you are pissed off with your job. MacArthur's Park has to be my fave song just because it talks about leaving the cake out in the rain. I just love it..what can I say?
It never gets dull. This CD is great value for the money and will have you rocking and laughing at the same time. Must have for the ipod and the CD just so you can see the cheesy 80's attire on the cover :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Perty Okay, May 10, 2000

I didn't like this at first, but it began to grow on me after awhile. At first it annoyed me because of the typical Ramones song structure (chorus, verse, repeat chorus ad nauseam) but as I gave it more listens I realized that the Queers were a tad more experimental in their own lowbrow-humor, volatile hardcore way in this early output by them. "We'd Have a Riot Doing Heroin," and "Love Me" are my two favorites...though the cover of MacArthur's Park is kinda neat, though a bit of novelty. I also thought the live broadcast at the end was rather redundant. The live broadcasts have roughly the same sound quality as the rest of the album and the songs are the same so it seems rather useless. Aside from that, this is okay, though I'd recommend the Queers later work for a better idea of the rest of the Queers' output.
