5.0 out of 5 stars Billie gives us the goods, June 8, 2000
This review is from: Day & Night (Pt. 1) (Audio CD)
So you've probably heard at least one of Billie's previous hit singles, for she has had a few. "Because We Want To" was probably her biggest hit, and "She Wants You" didn't do too badly on the club charts. Well, this is probably going to be Billie's biggest hit to date. The original version is produced by the hot production team of Stargate (who have worked with artists such as S Club 7 and Mary J Blige) and sounds as though it could have been produced by Swedish mastermind Max Martin. Yes, boys and girls, this song will appeal to any person that enjoys Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys or any other Max Martin produced teen artist right now. With a hot video to go along with a great song, watch this one tear up the charts.

track listing:

1) Stargate Mix - 3:15

2) Almighty Club Mix - 8:04

3) Robbie Rivera's Bombastic Vocal Mix - 7:05

The remixes of this song are great as well, taking this pop track into another level. The Almighty Assosciates (remixes for Geri Halliwell, Cher & Hannah Jones) put a harder house edge to this track, which does work surprisingly well considering the fluffiness of the lyrics. Robbie Rivera (mixes for Amber & Sugar Babies) on the other hand, chooses to embrace the fluff and gives this remix a very very funky backbeat to get your toes tapping. Easily one of the most catchy club tunes in a while. Unfortunatly, Billie's vocals disappear for the last few minutes of the Robbie Rivera mix, but the first me minutes more than make up for that.

Also on this disc, you get the CD-ROM interactive video. Where you can watch the awesome video, check out the lyrics and look at slides of Ms. Piper.

Pick it up.

The gal's got more streetcred than Posh Spice & Brad Pitt put together. This song is so confidently written & pperformed you would not believe it was a 17yr old performing. Makes Britney positively puerile & has a killer chorus & video that the likes of Madonna & Janet Jackson would even envy. A well-deserved UK No1 (her 3rd, hence paralleling her with Britney) & having just bought her new album today, Billie Piper shall be respected!

The tracks are great and all, but I just can't see the video & others no matter what I do! Something to think about before buying this single if you're buying it just for the video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Single; Great Video, March 21, 2007
This review is from: Day & Night (Pt. 1) (Audio CD)
The main reason to pick up this CD of Billie Piper's first single off the "Walk of Life" CD is the simply killer video. Some of her other videos had a cheesy, low-budget feel to them, but Day & Night got a much better treatment. The dancing she does here will just knock you out, and the whole production has a hip, stylish look that has stood the test of time surprisingly well. The visuals have an edgy, urban vibe, and Piper conveys a confident sex appeal that belies her 17 (at the time) years. Unlike the video for "Something Deep Inside," this one doesn't stray into semi-pornographic territory.

The two remixes will be of interest to serious Piper fans--the "Bombastic" mix in particular is a lot of fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better then some of her previous material, December 28, 2002
This review is from: Day & Night (Pt. 1) (Audio CD)
Now, I have to admit I have never really been a big fan of Billie Piper. I have her first album, but I never was a huge fan. I just liked some of her songs. When she dated Ritchie from Five (who I was obsessed with at the time), I hated her. But now I like her again. This single is her best yet.
"Day and Night" is an upbeat catchy little number with a killer chorus that sounds great on the radio. I didn't like it at all when I first heard it, but it's grown on me.

The single itself is pretty bland. It has the Stargate mix, which also doubles as the radio edit and two other mixes. The interesting part of the single is the video and picture gallery. The video features Billie and her girlfriends dancing in a club first, then in a laundromat throwing the washing powder around. The best part of the video is at the end when you can see Billie's underwear as she walks away, hehe (I am a girl, not a pervy guy! I find that funny).

I gave this single 4 stars because of the video and song itself. Billie is due to return to the pop music scene soon, and I hope she does a song like this or I might not like her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh sound for Ms. Piper!, May 27, 2000
This review is from: Day & Night (Pt. 1) (Audio CD)
Billie Piper has changed her image and sound, and it's a good one. The fresh new sound is danceable and hip! Day and Night will surely be a favorite for this year's anthem! It has already debut at #1 in the UK, making ehr the youngest solo female artist to notch up 3 #1s! I hope the US will enjoy this tune later this year as she makes her comeback! The sound is packaged together nicely and it's a great pop song!

5.0 out of 5 stars Day & Night...with Billie, July 11, 2000
This review is from: Day & Night (Pt. 1) (Audio CD)
This single has done pretty well for this 17-year-old. It was #1 in UK. Congarts to Billie! And it doing pretty well over here in Australia, too! It debuted at #12, and has remained in the Top 20 for 5 weeks. Last week (3-7-00), though, it broke through the Top 10 and went to #9. This week, it's still at #9! And it's probably still rising! So watch out!

"Day & Night" is probably her BEST single in Australia, yet! 'Cos her last one "She Wants You" didn't even debut in the Top 50. Her last successful single here in Australia was "Honey To The Bee" which did get Top 20!

All i hear about Billie Piper is that she is dragged from clubs frothing at the mouth and with her eyes rolled back in her head! She claims "liver failure" and stress, I think we all know what causes this Billie, and its not LIVER FAILURE! I really like this song, the 3rd version I like the best. Big BASS and great sounds, a great pumping club track.
