Day 6 Plotwatcher Pro HD Game Surveillance System

Know exactly where to hunt without spending days manually scouting a location with the Day 6 PlotWatcher Pro HD game surveillance camera. The PlotWatcher Pro records HD video of all the activity that happens in a select area in the days before you hunt. Once mounted at your stand location, the camera takes pictures every five to 10 seconds from dawn to dusk and condenses them into a 10-minute HD time-lapse video. As a result, you can review a full day of activity in just a few minutes, or even faster using the GameFinder video software.

The PlotWatcher Pro is a step above most trail cameras, which trigger photos based on short-range motion. By contrast, the PlotWatcher Pro captures images of an area regardless of how far away the subject stands. This greater field of view allows hunters to see game and analyze animals' travel patterns that would have otherwise gone undetected by traditional trail cameras. The information is a must for hunters looking to make an educated decision on where and when to hunt. No more wasting time hunting in unproductive spots.

The camera's GameFinder video player software makes it a breeze to review your daily video files. The software lets you review files in forward or reverse at your choice of replay speed, or even scroll frame by frame for a more detailed review. You can also speed up the review process by using the MotionSearch feature, which skips to the next frame in which motion is observed. With GameFinder, you can easily build and share your own library of HD video clips and pictures.

The PlotWatcher Pro is easy to set up thanks to the simple one-button design. Simply select the time-lapse interval on the selector wheel, insert a USB drive, turn on the TLV unit, and scout. And the camera includes all kinds of convenient hands-on features for hunters, including a 2.5-inch LCD for onboard camera setup, video aiming, and camera status messages; a defined time-of-day setting for video start and stop; support for an add-on zoom lens; temperature and moon phase info for each image; and up to 32 GB of SD card storage.

Other details include the ability to record up to 1 million images; a time-lapse interval range from one second to 60 minutes; a video resolution of 1,280 x 720; and three times more battery life than most other cameras.

Product Description

Harness the power of time lapse! Day 6 Outdoors PlotWatcher Pro Trail Cam delivers a full day's worth of scouting info in mere moments, in HD clarity! Where other game cams are triggered by a remote sensor, the PlotWatcher Pro snaps pics at regular intervals... as many as one every 5 seconds... capturing ALL the action from dusk to dawn, and presents them into a 10-minute HD time-lapse video. You'll watch a whole day's worth of scouting in mere minutes! And while other cameras only take pics of game in the foreground, the PlotWatcher Pro catches game no matter how near or far, from 30 feet to 300, so you see exactly where your buck is moving, even if he isn't coming near the camera. It's almost as good as spending a full day scouting the area yourself... and a whole lot more convenient! And with up to 4X longer battery life than the original PlotWatcher, you can count on up to a full month of time-lapse coverage on a single set of batteries! For serious scouting, the choice is clear... check out the details: 1280 x 720 high-definition video for outstanding clarity; Battery life lasts up to an astounding one million video images (equals 28 days of 10 second interval time-lapse); Built-in 2 1/2" LCD viewing screen for easy on-board set-up and video aiming; Review one full day in 10 minutes or less, or scroll through images frame by frame; Time-lapse settings for 5 or 10 seconds, or customized intervals; Customizable recording time, from one second to 60 minutes; Simple and easy-to-use thumb wheel control; 32 GB USB drive recommended (not included); Security cable-ready (not included); Accepts add-on zoom lens; GameFinder Software with MotionSearch software included; Uses 8 AA batteries (not included). The battery life on the pro is great.

I can see shapes of animals out to 150 to 200 yards, but I can not see very good detail when zooming in with the software.

Great product, easy to use and good picture quality.

The pro is a good product. I have a lot of infrared game cameras, but I bought this to observe large food plots. A deer has to cross within 30 feet or so of an infrared camera but the pro takes a shot of entire plot every 5 seconds so you pick up deer in the whole plot. The battery life on the pro is great. It's been out 6 weeks on daytime only every 5 seconds and battery meter shows about 55%.
I have a 32GB sd card that will hold at least 3 weeks of images. It takes about 7 minutes per day to watch the video on 5x speed looking for deer, so it takes a while to review a few weeks of data. But it sure has told me a lot of good info. Image quality is good and the software has a zoom feature.

This camera does everything it claims to do, and does it well. I don't need an infra-red trigger camera to tell me when a 10 point buck is out at 3 am. I need a camera to watch the places I hunt and tell me when the deer are there during daylight, dawn and dusk. The interface is really easy to use, the "GameFinder" software works surprisingly well (both Mac and PC) and the device works with very large SDHC cards. I am using a 32GB class 10 and so far so good. I could easily have 3 or 4 of these set up around the backyards that I hunt to let me know when and where I need to be.

UPDATE

This camera has already prove itself invaluable! I tied it to a tree facing an area that supposedly had deer "all the time" according to the residents. Well, they are, but not at the time I would have thought. The camera showed that at 2:38pm, on the nose, almost daily 4-5 deer walked by and grazed. Brilliant, I am getting a second one of these.

We were disappointed with the battery life of the original plot watcher, but loved the concept. When the plot watcher pro came out with a stated 4 month battery life we thought it was definitely worth a try. It takes awesome pics and has fantastic battery life (after 1 week the battery life was still at 86%). We are fully satisfied and excited about this product.

This camera proved itself the first day in the field. I hunt public hunting lands and can not bait deer. I see alot of buck tracks but can never seem to guess the right spot for my trail cameras. I can't put them directly on the trails because of thieves. After one of my trail camers was stolen last week, I decided to give "Day 6 Plotwatcher Pro HD" a try. Five hours after putting out my Plotwatcher Pro, I had a little 4 point buck walking around the area. He returned 4 hours later at sunset and walked around for 10 minutes. I would have never seen him on my trail cameras. I have 2 trail cameras for sale if anyone wants them. I'm going with all 'Day 6 Plotwatcher Pro HD".

I purchased Plotwatcher Pro to catch scrap metal thieves that operate with impunity in my state(Miss.)

It is great product and the beauty is in the software "bells and whistles" that allow me to capture the images of the thieves and their auto tag numbers to at least force reluctant-to-act law officers and/or sometimes complicit-in-crime law officials with jpeg images of the thieves. A Plotwatcher Pro is the cat's meow and the best "gumshoe" money can buy... and they cannot be bribed to lie.

I'm waiting for an IR model for the deep-in-the-woods surveillance.

Plotwatcher is the right name. The camera is great for patterning activity in your hunting area. I bought 3 cameras and have move them twice and recorded the equivalent 50 days of activity. First the con's --- by a country mile the biggest issue is that the image quality is very low resolution so gauging any detail beyond 20 yards is impossible (e.g. Counting tines on a deer rack; seeing the beard on a turkey); saving individual images via computer software. The pro's --- battery life with regular energizer batteries is awesome; the range or FOV is easily 150 yards long and 75 yards wide; the factory default settings are perfect (5sec picture intervals; auto dusk/dawn activation); 16gb memory card with 5sec pic intervals will last you 10 days; quality product; adjusting setting is very easy.

Accessories to consider --- camlock security box (it fits perfectly and protects camera from the elements); masterlock Cable to safely secure to the tree; climbing tree sticks to get the camera a good 15 feet off the ground so you can pattern activity in a much larger area

I have a Plotwatcher pro that i bought last October (2012). Overall the camera is average. The picture/ video quality is very poor so anything over 30 yards it becomes difficult to tell any details. It works well for monitoring an area to note deer travel. I have had my plotwatcher for 10 months, after being out for 1 week this year the LCD screen went white and stopped working. I contacted Plotwatcher about a warranty repair but am out of luck as I no longer have my receipt. The CS rep stated that this has been a problem with this camera and in fact they are back logged on repairs waiting for new LCD screens to come in to repair what has already been sent back and that he has a list of people to contact to send in their cameras once they have screens in stock. My repair will cost $50.00 as I can't find my receipt 10 months later. In my opinion poor customer service for a known issue with a product. There are better options for the money with trailcams that take video at a much higher resolution and that also stand behind their warranty.
