Book Description

Day of Revolution October 3, 2006
Kei Yoshikawa is a feisty young boy, troubled by problems at home and annoyed at school. One day after a sudden fainting spell, Kei is examined by the doctor and given shocking news - he is actually supposed to be a girl! Although physically male, Kei's chromosomes show that "he" is female. Seeing a chance to start life anew, Kei and his family decide to have him begin living as a girl. As "Kei" disappears and "Megumi" enrolls back into school, his/her girl pal Makoto is Kei's only ally who knows his secret. Dressed like a girl but still feeling like a boy, mixed-up Kei/Megumi feels more comfortable being with Makoto than the other boys... What's a gender-confused kid supposed to do?

4.0 out of 5 stars ..., October 29, 2007
This review is from: The Day Of Revolution Volume 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this manga. I found the plot a bit unbelievable. Not the gender-bender stuff, but the idea that her four friends would have absolutely no problem going out with her. Still, it was very funny. Any manga that has me laughing out loud on the train is worth reading. I don't really see how this is yaoi since Kei is actually a girl, but psychologically I suppose it's possible. I can't wait to read the second book!

5.0 out of 5 stars He was always a girl?, May 21, 2007

Kei Yoshikawa was having problems. What turned out to be growing pains turned out to be growing pains alright. He was growing into a cute girl. Yes, it turns out he was ALWAYS a girl. Who knew? Now he decides to be a she, dress like a she, act like a she and go to his school as a girl. A petite, sweet girl who all the boys seem to notice look like their old friend Kei. What's a girl to do?
No magic, no aliens, no Goddesses, no monsters or vampires. Just plain old fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Day of Revolution starts a revolution, December 28, 2009

This review is from: The Day Of Revolution Volume 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
The Day of Revolution is an interesting story ONLY if you're comfortable with gender-bending. Personally, I loved it but for others it makes them a bit uncomfortable seeing your guy-girl thing going on. The story is incredibly well-drawn and the characters are easy to fall in love with, especially Kei.
