This review is from: The Day It Snowed Tortillas: Tales from Spanish New Mexico (Paperback)
When I was little my mom took me every Sunday in the Summer to go listen to Joe Hayes by the teepee on museum hill. Now I live in Japan and can't do that for my son, but I love to read him these stories and hear Joe in my head. Such a wonderful collection of stories, no kid (or adult!) would be bored.

4.0 out of 5 stars hispanic stories, October 7, 2003
A Kid's Review
This book is about different kinds of stories that are from New Mexico. The book's title is The Day it Snowed Tortillas and it's written by Joe Hayes.
The stroy's title is The Day It Snowed Tortillas. It starts like this: this guy was a wood cutter her only knew how to cut wood, he didn't know anything. Nothing! One day he went up to the mountains in the village he saw immediately three bags full of gold coins. He carried them all the way down the moutains...his wife had him buy flour- this tricked the robbers. If you like short stories and surprises at the end, you would consider this book to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The woodcuters finds gold what will he find next?, October 7, 2003
A Kid's Review
"You found gold" the woodcutter said. The woodcutter's wife is smart so she makes a plan for if in case the robbers come to their village to reclaim their gold. You would really want to read this book. It is not one story it is a bunch of stories. If you want to find out what the wooodcutter's wife has in store for the robbers, and want to find this book, it is called The Day It Snowed Tortillas. In my point of view I highly recommend this book.
