this book is a great resource for anyone visiting dallas for an extended period of time or new residents. a variety of day trips are suggested. there's something for anyone. ramani is a pithy travel writer and her research is thorough. highly recommend buying a copy for your next trip to texas.

I just read in the author's bio that she grew up in Dallas, & this definitely feels like an "insider" guide. The author comes up with varied, off-the-beaten-path trips, such as the Dallas area's cool art scene, which was news to me, but so much fun to explore, thanks to this book. Besides its great info, this book is fun to read & well organized. I hope to see more guidebooks by Sandra Ramani--she really & totally gets what travel & day-tripping are about.
