3.0 out of 5 stars Even after reading it; Gene Vincent still has my respect, August 20, 1999
By A Customer
Hagarty's 1984 book must have some truth in it. Nonetheless, if one is looking for a complimentary history of Gene Vincent, I'm sure other books could be found. Hagarty is not all wrong in describing some of the travails of being on the road. If it's a case of respect for the dead, and the life of a man who really did alter western culture, then maybe some things should have not have been written. You choose after reading it. If what one critic says is true about the book not being endorsed by the Craddock family and the mis-quotes; then the book should never have been printed. I still see the Great Gene Vincent, no matter what has been written. And for his part Britt Hargarty recognised that eternal greatness of Gene Vincent.

1.0 out of 5 stars A poor book - Tabloid quality., January 15, 1998
By A Customer
This book misquoted family members. The information contained was of tabloid quality. This book is NOT endorsed by Gene Vincent's family. This book did unspeakable damage to Gene Vincent's parents, and his family has been irreparably harmed by the damage caused by this sensationalistic author.
