It is a amazing accounting of a woman's life....(and she was the same age as my still living mother) . The experiences of working and raising a family and being aware of her own passions as an artist are timeless. I have read few journals that I can learn from .... Her story does not read like a novel, she shares her knowledge and thought process about being an artist and mother and a woman; but it is relate-able.

I'm not an artist so I didn't relate to most of her writing but I really enjoyed the parts when she wrote about her personal life, especially her childhood. She is an excellent writer and had an interesting life. Worth a read.
