We have followed Ballyhoo for a while, all the way back to 365 day weekend. They never dissapoint. And, if you go to a show, they are the friendliest band around. Take note now, cuz these boys are going to be around a long while! Daydreams shows off Howi Spangler (lead singer, guitar) and his range. "Ricochet" is my wifes favorite Ballyhoo song, but sounds nothing like their previous reggae fusion vibes. As a matter of fact, if you never knew Ballyhoo before and listened to a few of the songs on this album you would not know that they are a reggae/rock fusion band. "Meatheads" is a song they have played live for a while and is my personal anthem. If you like 311, punk, ska, reggae, put them into a blender and you get Ballyhoo. Great album.

For the fans of the California sound, this is a gem. It is a great band, hope it stays that way

I've heard people complaining that this Ballyhoo! album is too heavy and that they should do something more like DIFTM. I couldn't disagree more. In my opinion, it's a little heavier, but the guys are really coming into their own and the songwriting is maturing. They're really starting to deal with serious emotions and adult situations (not the late night Cinemax kind). I think lyrically this album is the best they've done so far. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are weak points in some of the songs. Last Night just misses being a good song and ends up being more "eh, I've heard a lot of songs like this before" and "Bootleggers" has too many pirate references for me. If there's one thing I'm sick of, it's pirates. Unless they're of the Penelope Cruz variety, of course. Overall, BUY IT!!!!!
