5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven on earth--
The best CD I have ever heard. We received it as a gift a few years ago. It consistently brings tears to the eyes and joy to the heart. This should be a perennial best seller. I believe the only reason it isn't is because people don't know about it. It is classical music, with trained and sensitive voices. Think of Winken, Blinken and Nod, Dona Nobis Pachem, and...

1.0 out of 5 stars talking ruins the music
The music is BEAUTIFUL! But it is ruined by the talking over the top of it. It's like going to a concert and sitting in front of a family that is talking and won't shut up during the whole concert.

Very disappointing. Without the incessant blabbing it would have been a wonderful album.

I believe the only reason it isn't is because people don't know about it. It is classical music, with trained and sensitive voices. Think of Winken, Blinken and Nod, Dona Nobis Pachem, and more and more, done to perfection. There are not enough superlatives. This is a gift that will be remembered long hence.

5.0 out of 5 stars magical and beautiful; lovely beyond words, April 23, 1999

impossible to describe -- bits of classical music, children's rhymes, choir songs, and lullabies all performed as if by the most accomplished symphony on earth. heard it on an npr station while away, and bought it months later, that's how haunting it was. great for any age -- newborn to 100

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes me happy every time I hear it, December 9, 2001

One of my all-time favorite CD's, ever, of any genre of music. It's absolutely beautiful from start to finish. It's difficult to decribe the effect it has, but of course I have to try. It induces a feeling of peace, well-being, elation. The spirit soars, the ear rejoices. I could listen to it over and over and over -- and have. It never gets stale. One of my favorite times to listen to it is on a long, night drive home as the kids fall asleep in the backseat. I bought this for them, and they love it, too. I can't know if it brings them as much joy as it brings me, but I hope so.

This music will take you and your little ones to places of adventure and imagination as you "rock in the wooden shoe" along with Winken, Blinken, and Nod. Truly incomparable. I lost my first copy in a move and this was the first thing I purchased once I was settled. Even adults will appreciate this classical style.

This, along with several books, is my standard new baby gift. It's just beautiful and soothing. I used to be an elementary teacher and would use this music to calm my students down when coming in from recess. It can calm adults down too!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I play this for my toddler to get him ready for bed, February 18, 2011

This is classical music with peoms and other sweet messages along with it. If the talking would really bug you, then don't go this route. But my preschooler likes it and it helps him settle down for sleep. He's getting to where he recognizes the pieces when he hears them in other settings, like on the radio in the car. I love that! I'm a big fan of all of the Classical Kids CDs.
