As a career Jewish music specialist, I rejoice in having found this early-childhood book which is the ideal vehicle to teach children as young as two-and-a-half to sing and fully understand the meaning of "Dayeinu", one of the core musical songs in the Passover seder ritual. Cleverly crafted words accurately fit the traditional "Dayeinu" melody. In fact, at our last seder, a pre-school nephew proudly sang this version of the song with high spirits and complete understanding!

This book tells enough of the Passover story to be educational, while keeping it light enough to be age-appropriate for the littlest readers. It can be read/sung to the tune of the traditional Dayenu song, and even keeps its meaning, so that creates the fun and adds to the cultural education.

My 14 month old daughter loves this book. I would have given it five stars but the wording is wrong. If you're a Jew, which I assume is the target audience, then you aren't supposed to tell your child about when "the Jews went out of Egypt" but when WE went out of Egypt. The story of the exodus is always told as if you yourself had been there, a fairly major flaw (unless you're the wicked son...). Otherwise it's an awesome book and I'll still recommend to friends.

I received this book after Passover so I didn't really look at it, I just put it away for next year.
