More than meets the eye...,
By Thomas (Helsinki, Finland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: A guide to Taoist Yoga & Chi Kung (Paperback)
At first look this book might just seem like lots of Mantak Chia's books have been condensed into just one volume. That's not bad at all: despite all the material from Chia there has never been a good structured approach learning it by yourself. This book is *the* Guide to help you through the early training: the exercises are described well, the illustrations are better than in most of Chia's books and new things are gradually and methodologically introduced to the student. Sometimes I missed more detailed explanation on the theory (that's why I only gave 4 stars) but this book takes the practical approach: you learn by doing. But this book is more than just Chia's stuff: if you do the meditations described here and don't start fooling around with your own modifications, prepare for a (pleasant) surprise: this is not just a book on exercise, is is a start of a spiritual journey. Achieving the Golden Light by a balanced training of your Three Treasures (Essence, Qi and Spirit) is a small breakthrough in itself. Consider it as a Gift from Dao.

100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: A Guide to,

This review is from: 100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: A guide to Taoist Yoga & Chi Kung (Paperback)
'100 Days' will last a person 100 years. Full of valuable information, it will take much longer than 100 days to incorporate. A friend and I did the 100-day program and found this only long enough to skim the surface. Now on my second go-through of the program, I am taking a month to do each of Yudelove's weekly exercises. This book is a basic text for anyone interested in understanding and practicing qigong - or anyone who wants to know how energy influences the body, mind and health. Highly recommended.

This is a really remarkable book.,

"100 Days..." provides a rare combination of unique practice; any more or less advanced student may find helpful tips, easy to learn but hard to discover; and - maybe the most important one - the books teaches us to be happy by our being with the Way since happiness is the natural state of human mind. I think that "100 Days..." is a must for all Qigong enthusiasts around the world, regardless of the style or background

One of the best books I have ever read on Chi Kung. Master Yudelove really teaches with his hearth and energy in his book. It is a rare experience to follow the guidence describe in the book. I have already advise to read it to all my Chi Kung students here in Turkey. Thank you with all my hearth.Cem Sen

Excellent reference to helpful no-impact exercise,

This review is from: 100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: A guide to Taoist Yoga & Chi Kung (Paperback)
This work contains excellent advice and wonderful exercises for those who cannot do your average work-out. I have chronic asthmatic bronchitis and found the "healing breaths" in this book quite helpful. I would have liked a little more insight into the practitioners dietary and lifestyle considerations, but still a great book. You really can't go wring with anything from LLewelyn Publications!

The best way to learn the "way",
By A Customer
This review is from: 100 Days to Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: A guide to Taoist Yoga & Chi Kung (Paperback)
Eric Yudelove has written a really wonderful book. The Healing Tao meditations were never difficult, but the way they are usually taught - through weekend or one-week seminars - can leave you feeling confused, especially if the material is new. As students, we need time to assimilate the material, and a roadmap to guide us through it. Eric's method - to divide the material into 14 weekly lessons, each of which builds upon the previous - makes perfect sense. It's well thought out and well written, and too bad he didn't publish it earlier - I'd have saved a lot of time.

Pretty pictures, but nothing is new in this end of town!,

While Mr. Yudelove must be commended for his wonderful illustrations, this work is simplistic re-hash of Taoist texts authored by Mantak Chia. After shelling out some duckets for his first book, "The Tao and The Tree of Life" sight unseen and being considerably dissapointed, I am glad I returned to my policy of perusing potential purchases as my local dealer.

Inaccurate rehash of Mantak Chia's books.,

My main probem with this book is that some of the acupuncture points are incorrect....This is a really serious blunder for an author to make..Learning the qigong massage using the wrong points is very uncool. For that reason alone I cant recomend this author.

It's okay, but lacks real content -,

It's okay, but lacks real content I am a REAL Chinese, I can tell that Eric is not. His book is very superficial and many points have been taken/copied or a similar to many other books and information available. Nothing new has been presented except for a change of names and illustrations. However if you are a Westerner who likes to collect books for the sake of collection or want to see a summarization of more authentic books and deeper information then this would be the book for you. It makes a good "coffee table" reading for those with no time. In this case, the price outlines the quality of the book. You pay for what you get. There are many other books available which have higher quality and content. When looking at a taoist book you must look at the author of the book and his/her credentials. As a general tip. In searching for a traditional chinese taoist book find a taoist.

I am lucky enough to be Eric Yudelove's wife. This, of his three brilliant books, is my favorite and is the book he most recommends to people who ask him which book to read first. I simply want to say that Eric walks his talk, is deeply knowledgeable and has the critical gift of translating complex, intricate information and myriad sources into easily digestible "plain english." And, although blushing, I have to encourage everyone to read this book and practice these exercises because Eric, at age 63, is the most energetic, romantic and awesome sexual partner any woman could wish for. He has the sexual stamina of a 23 year old male and is incredible. No wonder I love him so much. Enjoy! Dian Yudelove.
