Gorgeous collection of weary songs,

I had to react on the previous review. I bought this CD and I like it a lot. It's the only place to find David McWilliams 60's songs. Agreed, he was not the world's greatest songwriter but many of these songs are pure magic. David's voice combined with semi-psychedelic folk-rock arrangements create this special 60's atmosphere that can be found on mid-sixties Donovan albums. Don't buy this CD for 'Days of Pearly Spencer'. Buy it for 'I Love Susie In The Summer' or 'For A Little Girl' or 'Three O'Clock Flamingo Street' or 'Redundancy Blues'. There's plenty of good songs here although I must agree that 'The Stranger' should have been here as well.David McWilliams sadly passed away a few months ago, just as his later work was about to be released as well. Check out "Days At Dawn" a recent 2-CD compilation of his 70's records released on the UK Dawn label. -- A sadly forgotten singer-songwriter --.

Not so good.,

The title of this CD seems to imply that you will get the best of David Mcwilliams. However, apart from "Days of Pearly Spencer", there isn't much to listen to. One song that is certainly missing is "The Stranger"
