I've been operational as a new EVE citizen for a little over two weeks now. Your take on EVE comes down to how far and how wide you care to cast your net.

EVE offers an astonishing array of possibilities. As others have noted, there is no 'leveling up', and no end game. It is yours to make what you can of it.

World domination and all it entails appeals to some.

The dark side of the will to power: the slaughter and destruction of others for its own sake, seems to draw more than a few to this venue. As does retribution against them. It's your decision. Pick your side - depending on your decision, you may eventually have me to deal with.

More than anything else, and for me at least, the sense of wonder that accompanies the exploration of a brilliantly conceived and executed environment is its own reward. And this is where the creators of the EVE universe really shine. There is a remarkable story of real depth behind it all that is still evolving, and better still, we all have a hand in it. Every human foible and grace is here on display. In that regard, EVE is a game that transcends the MMORPG genre with its own meta-game.

Plus, the game itself is drop-dead gorgeous, and the epic soundtrack is just icing on the cake.

You can play to your basest desires or live the courage of your convictions. Nothing else compares to the EVE universe. It makes everything else look crude and cartoonish.

Finally, it is game that requires you to think, even if you play it at its lowest level of sophistication. As one EVE citizen, J'Poll has noted, "When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises." For those with little imagination of their own, or who choose not to think EVE will provide only frustration and boredom. In that respect, the game self-selects.

Was an excellent value. Got me jumpstarted in Eve with starter kit, 60 days play time and lots of in-game goodies. Only prob lem was the direct Amazon-to-Eve link was slow and somewhat unreliable. Though a great idea, I would have preferred the traditional approach with game codes.

I like playing this game because it is a good time killer. I recommend you give it a shot before shooting it down.

Excellent way to start either a new char or an alt. Great value for price!
In game the ship can be sold for such an amount that new players will be getting a great start, even if they don't know any "godfathers"

the free ship is very nice if you have galente skill for destroyers its a very powerful hybrid gun platform good for PVE though it lacks in some areas for PVP its still nice bonus to come with your game time or a good gift to someone else since i mostly fly Caldari ships anyway

This is a game worth investing in for the long haul if you like true sandbox games. Carebears watch out! In this game there are no true "safe zones". Everything you do must be carefully planned and executed or you might just lose all that you hold dear!

Knowledge is power!

This route is better in my opinion because you get a few complementary in game items for the same price. Not much else to say, it works.

This game is boring if you make it 60 days I will be astounded. Skill training is really boring and repetitive since you have to spend time doing it every time you log in.
