3.0 out of 5 stars who filmed this thing?, February 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Days of the New: Live [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I am a huge DOTN fan, but what is up with this home-made quality production? It's a music-video version of the "Blair Witch Project." The four band members are crunched onto a poorly-lit 6'x8' stage in what seems like a local bar, and the camera work is just plain dull. Travis sings with his head down the entire time, with his hair completely blocking his face and his beautiful eyes. The occassional behind-the-scenes footage helps to relieve some of the visual monotony. The nice thing is that this video does include some great songs that are not on DOTN's two albums. Also, the videos at the end are great bonuses. If you want to hear DOTN live, it's a great soundtrack. But don't expect any stunning visuals.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for any DOTN fan!, July 28, 1999

If you like DOTN self-titled album, then you'll love this video! Great filming, editing, and sound quality. The live footage is a little over an hour long with 5 new songs (out of 11 total)! Also includes their 2 music videos....buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST have for Days fans, September 16, 2001

Simply put, if you are a Days of the New fan, you must have this video.

I love it. 11 great live songs plus 2 videos at the end. No glitzy stage show, no special effects, just a concentration on the music. The live versions of these songs are either not available anywhere else, or at least very hard to find on the flip side of some singles.

How many other bands, touring to support their debut CD, play 5 songs not even on the 1st CD? I think it's great that the band wants to give the fans more than what they are expecting. The video is 75 minutes long so there is a lot to enjoy here.

I understand that this video is becoming hard to find, so go out & get it NOW, while you still can!!
