5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SOUNDTRACK EVER!!!
I love this soundtrack! I don't care about bad reviews here. Movie itself and this album makes me back to the movie. This great fantastic album, it reminds me MEN-FEELING-DYNAMIC-FILM : DAYS OF THUNDER!!! I luv JOHN WAITE"S "DEAL FOR LIFE" & CHER'S "TRAIL OF BROKENHEARTS". I want to say that you can't out run this album!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hans Zimmer's song, Last note of Freedom and The Driver, August 21, 2005
This review is from: Days Of Thunder: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I wanted to point this out, I know some other people might have already, but the "Last note of Freedom" sung by David Coverdale, and "The Driver" sung by Terry Reid on Aspen Extreme have the same melody line. If anyone noticed and I just did a little comparison and it looks like both Hans Zimmer and Trevor Horn had participation in both songs. So, 'no wonder' they sound the same. I always thought they sounded similar but never investigated it...and it is cool to see that Terry Reid's rendition of 'Gimme Some Lovin' from the album 'the driver' is on this soundtrack. I love this soundtrack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last Note of Freedom Rocks !!!, November 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Days Of Thunder: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This CD is very good, the best song I think is The Last Note of Freedom, that maybe considered the theme music, because it plays in the movie, four times, in four different ways...for the fans of the movie this CD is a must buy !!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great 80's arena rock soundtrack, October 20, 2009
This review is from: Days of Thunder (Audio CD)
Say what you will about the movie (I'm not a fan), but if you're an "arena rock" fan it's hard to beat the soundtrack to Days of Thunder. Obviously Guns n' Roses' take on Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" was the major hit from this soundtrack, but that also appeared on their Use Your Illusion II album, albeit as a slightly different version. There are still plenty of good tracks here that you won't find elsewhere, most notably Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale's "The Last Note of Freedom". There are also solid AOR entries by John Waite, Joan Jett and - believe it or not - Chicago. Even the contributions from Tina Turner, Cher and Elton John are better than I expected.

Despite its 1990 release date, Days of Thunder is a great 80's rock soundtrack that fits right in with the soundtracks for Navy Seals: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989 Film) and Over the Top.

Oh, and what's with all the 1-star reviews from people who were expecting the film's score? The track listing makes it perfectly clear what's on this disc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great! except for 2 things, August 15, 2006
This review is from: Days Of Thunder: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This soundtrack captures the mood of the movie perfectly. The only 2 things I found wrong with it, was it doesn't have the original version of "Gimme Some Lovin" by the Spencer Davis Group & there wasn't any of the score tracks on the album. My favorite track is Joan Jett's "Long Live The Night" The rest of the artists do a great job as well. The cover of "Knockin' on Heavens Door" by G&R is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack!, March 4, 2005

This review is from: Days Of Thunder: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This soundtrack album features many great songs performed by artists like Elton John,Tina Turner,Cher and Guns 'n Roses. KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR,written by Bob Dylan and performed by G 'n R,is awesome. It would later appear on their 1991 platinum smash,USE YOUR ILLUSION II. YOU GOTTA LOVE SOMEONE,performed by EJ,is probably an outtake from his 1989 album SLEEPING WITH THE PAST. Those are the only hits from this album. Tony Scott, who directed this film, had other hit films with pop music soundtracks such as TOP GUN and BEVERLY HILLS COP 2. This album was distributed by Geffen Records,a division of Warner Bros. EJ had shifted from Geffen, back to MCA(one of his two pre-Geffen labels) when recording YGLS. So,this is his last bond with Geffen. Great album!

5.0 out of 5 stars THREE EXCELLENT SONGS BY GREAT SINGERS, December 21, 2002
By
Rucho (Buenos Aires, Argentina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Days Of Thunder: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This soundtrack includes three excellent songs: "Trail of Broken Hearts" by Cher, "Deal for Life" by John Waite, "Break Through the Barrier" by Tina Turner, as far as I know none of these songs appear on these artists' albums, compilations or were they ever released as singles, hidden gems that make a very interesting and worth buying CD.
