Pretty good match, no one would know it wasn't factory. Would have gave it 5 stars had they included the clips. Instead, they have you jab off the ones that come with your panel that you remove. Not only is this a bit of a PITA, but you could hurt yourself doing it. Beware, do it somewhere that when the pop off you won't lose them because they will go flying when you finally pop them off. Time: 5 Mins

Tools Needed:
Phillips Head Screw Driver
Flat Head Screw Driver (or butter knife)
Needle Nose Pliers (I didn't need these, as I popped off the clips with a butter knife so they didn't get to bent out of shape)
Paper Towel

it was an easy switch but still annoying trying to get the old clips off. but i would buy it again, my ipod fits perfect and i dont get scared with my doors off of losing it anymore

This panel installed in under ten minutes.Super easy to install and looks and works great. Now I have a place to toss item on my dash where they will not fall off.

I just received and installed the upper dash pannel today. It feels much more sturdy than the stock upper dash and much more useable. Not an exact fit (along the sides) but it doesn't bother me any. I could have lived without the Daystar imprinted decal on the front. You need to reuse your factory clips. Some people find this upsetting but mine popped right off and clipped on easily. I wasn't sure how the compass was to be mounted but it was really simple. No sticky tape- just remove the compass and hardware from your stock dash pannel and it screws right in very nicely to existing holes. Will definitely need to pick up some non slip mats for it. I give this two thumbs up and a crooked smile.

This is a very simple install and great upgrade for any Jeep owner. Great location to put your phone and sun glasses. Provides easy access to keep your eyes on the road.

Just received this item yesterday and I had it installed in about ten minutes. I love the results. It fits perfectly. I was concerned about some of the reviews here about modifications & clips breaking, but I had no problems of the sort. Just take your time and follow the instructions exactly and you will have no problems installing this dash panel.

Once installed with some tweeking, this looks good and has some functionality. The reason this does not get a better rating is because the fit is not very good at all, and requires some cutting to get it where it should be. Also the instuctions could use some extra details. First, the fit is not very good, with the indention on top of the dash panel, the dash panel makes contact with the dash frame that covers the front of the radio, climate etc. This causes the piece directly above the radio to bow up from the pressure creatng a larger gap between the radio and the upper dash panel. This Gap is only in the center of the console making the fit look very poor. This also creates pressure so the dash panel cannot be completely secured to the front, this could make it pop up randomly. To fix this I had to to trim part of the upper dash out, it is not visible once the upper dash panel is installed, but secures the dash panel and removes the bow. Removing and reattaching the compass caused it to be stuck at whatever direction it was facing when I began the procedure. Once the install is done I had to recalibrate the compass using the procedure in the owners manual.

It takes some force to make this fit.. DONT LOSE THE CLIPS!! They are expensive bc Chrysler will only sell the whole UPPER PANEL assembly..

Looks better than stock after installed. VERY NICE TO HAVE a place to PUT CHANGE!!!

Installation was easy and only took 15 minutes to complete. I didn't have a problem taking off the clips - just be sure to take your time and dont rush it. The finished product doesn't exactly look factory, however no one other than a die-hard Jeep fan would notice anyway.

My GPS unit is too small for the lips so I'm still going to use the window mount for it. I'm also considering getting rubber matting for the insets to ensure things dont move while in motion. Overall I'd recommend it as it does add more space to put things like a phone.

Its convenient to keep miscellaneous items like a phone, house keys, loose change etc. BUT, Do not place anything you do not wish to fly down the road when you have your top and doors off.
