I got this specifically because I wanted a 150 watt center channel amplifier. I got the Cerwin Vega VE series center channel which can be fed up to 150 watts and I wanted to make sure I could take full advantage of it. This is a great pairing, though I can never turn the volume past 50% or I will go deaf. Everything sounds crystal clear though, and the bass performance is fantastic. I would almost buy one of these for every speaker!

This amp only set me back $150 so I really wasn't expecting a whole lot. Boy, was I surprised. This unit approaches true audiophile quality. Super easy to set up with easy to understand instructions and options. Paired with a quality CD player like my Yamaha Natural Sound unit and some efficient bookshelf speakers like my Paradigm Atoms or Titans, this thing really sings! The adjustable crossover allows for easy sub-woofer hookup as well. I even hooked it up to my Paradigm Monitor 7 floorstanding speakers and was very surprised at the results. This thing will EASILY fill a large room full of people with quality sound. The indicator light is VERY bright blue and may pose a distraction to some but I had to find something negative to say about this unit. I have auditioned everything from Miles Davis to Led Zeppelin and really could not find any negatives worth mentioning. If you are on a budget or a budding audiophile not ready to plunk down at least double or triple for an entry level NAD, Adcom or Cambridge Audio unit, buy his thing now. From someone who has heard them side-by-side, you will have a hard time telling them apart. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I bought this amplifier to drive a subwoofer that had no built-in amplifier. It works great for that purpose; I am very happy with the quality. It can be bridged to a 150 W mono amplifier, and there is an adjustable low-pass filter that can optionally be switched in. You do not need a Y-connector or a shorting wire for bridging, there is a switch on the back that does this.

One thing that is not mentioned (or explained very well in the manual) is an optional "auto-on" feature that is enabled or disabled by a switch on the back. You can just leave the amplifier on/off switch in the "on" position, and it will turn on when it receives an audio input signal. When it stops receiving an input, it will go to standby after 15 minutes.

I bought two of this amplifiers for driving Apogee Duetta ( a pair of planer speakers having impedance of 4 ohms ). I made bi-amp setup with frequency divider processor at the input of these power amplifiers. The amplifiers drive 4 ohms easily. The amplifier power suply does not perish at high sound levels, that fill 600 sq. feet room with real trumpet sound level. Large dynamic range musics are reproduced well. I am very satisfied by the sound quality and by the price.

Using this unit for a dedicated outdoor music system for my lovely screened porch. I coupled it with a set of Definitive Technology AW 6500 Outdoor Speaker (Single, White)and a Logitech Squeezebox Duet Wi-Fi Internet Radio streaming lossless (flac) audio from my home server. Unit sounds fantastic at all volumes that I would ever dream of using in my situation. No audible artifacts or distortion. Auto on/off feature (driven by whether there is a signal at the inputs) enables me to run a "hidden" system, with the streaming part of the squeezebox and the amp placed in an attic adjacent to the wall where the speakers are mounted. To use the system, I just step outside with the Squeezebox remote and start. There is sometimes a little delay before the amp detects the signal and switches on - but order seconds, not minutes or anything stupid like that. Amp stays on for a time after the signal stops, so it does not cut in and out between songs, even if you do a bit of browsing for the next selection. Works and sounds like I had hoped, at a great price point and with features that make it good for a single-purpose hidden system.

Got two of these to power my JBL L112s (8 ohms) in monoblock 150W each. I was a little concerned about the lower power rating as I like to turn it up sometimes but had read so many good things about them, I gave them a go.

They sounded extremely clean and controlled at low and moderate levels connected to my B&K pre-amp fed by a simple Apple Airport Express module for streaming from my iTunes library.

The Auto-On feature works well so that I only need to power my preamp when I want to run some tunes.

But the real test came at a birthday party, 60 or so guests, and a dance floor. A request was made to use my setup for the dancing. There would need to be loud music for the night, techno dance type.

I was excited to give my vintage JBL's powered by the Daytons a go.

Suffice to say that the APA 150s were driven hard and never balked, never gave up, and never even got beyond a slightly warm.

They sound great with tons of punch and lots of damping with whatever was thrown at them. The JBLs sang and put to shame any DJ system I've heard. I did receive numerous compliments on the sound system that night.

Add a 5-year warranty and I cannot see how not to highly recommend.
