The package indicates that you can use this switch for two input sources and one speaker pair. I extremely disagree. Because it can also be used as a switch between two speaker pairs and one source, the current can go in both directions, thus creating the possibility of sending damaging feedback to one of your receivers (like I did), if you hook it up incorrectly. Now, you may ask yourself, "Well what bonehead would hook this up without carefully checking all the + and -'s on your connections?!" Well, this is very easy to do, because the labeling in the back for +/-A and +/B is misleading and the instructions are too simplistic to be of any use.

If you have a volt meter or a current tester to verify where the power is going then go ahead and use this switch for two input sources, otherwise, I would only buy this as a speaker pair selector.

I ended up buying this instead Cables To Go - 37089 - In-Wall Audio Source Selector-White

It features isolated connections for the positive and negative leads of both stereo channels which will only permit the current to flow in one direction (In the event of you accidentally crossing your wire leads.)

This Dayton Audio A-B has been in service for several years and works great. Also was easy to hook up.

If you want an amp to power two sets of speakers, and choose which one you want, this switch is for you.
That would be called a "speaker selector" switch.

If you want to drive one set of speakers from two differewnt amps and choose between the two, this switch is not for you.
As others have mentioned, it only switches the +R and +L with the minuses all in common.
Unlike some other power systems, the minus is not "ground". It would not be good to tie the R- to R- on two different amps.

What you want is a called a "Source Selector" switch

Great product, but bad directions. Figured it out tho ! Dayton has never let me down. Thanx Amazon !
