I own 4 Definitive Tech Mythos STS's along with a full 7.2 def tech surround setup. So I bought some 10$ A foot audio quest 14 gauge speaker wire along with some banana plugs because my dealer suggested it. Later I came across the dayton audio ready made cables wich are also 14 gauge on amazon. I bought them based on their looks and construction but when I connected them I was amazed! I thought just about all speaker wire was the same, well at least thats what I have heard all my life. Or maybe any speaker cable or wire would have worked for my old cheap speaker setup when I was like 15 years old. Anyways my speakers sounded at least 20-30% better in terms of volume bass and sound quality. I even left the audio quest hooked up and the dayton wires hooked up at the same time one to the left side and one to the right side of my sysytem to make comparisons and the dayton audio blew away anything I have ever heard. After that I ordered dayton audio speaker cable for my entire setup. These cables are very very well built and are very rugged the outer covering is extremely strong but is very easy to manipulate and they are beautifull they are not an eyesore If you would like to see my setup go to bluray . c o m there are many othet HT setups there. My profile is alpha sixx. Also when I called and spoke to parts express the customer support was excellent helpfull and very polite. These cables are amazing and where an excellent purchase!...............UPDATE............... I have been using these cables for over 8 months now and they are still fantastic. I ordered doubles a while back for my complete HT set up just incase something happens to my cables and these have been discontinued for some reason I have replacements on hand!

Amazing top notch quality on these Dayton cables. Extremely rugged and construction is commercial grade.

**The purchase of these cables come in two pairs for 2 speakers. I made the mistake of ordering two of these because I thought it came with only 1 pair. Will end up keeping the other anyways for my PC setup.

Beautiful, easy to work with, and sound great. They've taken a bit of a beating and still held up to spec.

Note, you do need 2-3" of clearance from the back of your receiver.

Can't do any better for the money.

When I decided to upgrade my speaker cable(for cable management/cosmetic reasons)from the AR 12ga. DIY cables,I knew there would be a lot of research to be done. I knew I wanted pre-fab cables and was initially looking for bi-amp cable with banana terminations. I soon discovered that many companies used alot of pyscho-bable to justify charging hundreds to even thousands of dollars for their cables. Even though I've spent several thousand dollars on my speaker array,I couldn't come to grips with spending nearly a thousand on cable. Then I came across these cables from Dayton. I read the reviews here and on the parts express website and decided to take the plunge. I bought 2 pair of 6 ft. cables for my fronts and 1 6 ft. run for my center. All 5 cables came in under a hundred dollars and I figured I couldn't go wrong. If they weren't up to the challenge I 'd sell them and go back to looking. Once I had gotten these cables hooked up I was imediately impressed with the improved sound even though these cables are 14ga. as apossed to the 12ga. I had. These cables made my speakers sing with more detail,smoother highs and deeper tighter bass. And they are a sight to behold. First class construction, beautifully machined banana plugs and great fit and finish. The only complaint would be that the cable pants seperate from the bananas and show 1/16" or less of the cable. Overall a great buy.

It seems as if all the reviewers repeat themselves, in this case a good thing. The quality of these cables is amazing including the construction of the plugs themselves, no reason to pay more. They do come in a set, two cables. They fit snug. They look great, fit and finish is amazing, definitely neatens things up. They are 14 gauge wire for those whom are interested. Using these with a Yamaha RX-V465 and Cambridge Audio S30 speakers. They sound fuller than the cheap Radio Shack cable I was using to tide me over while I waited for these to arrive. You can search online for more detail regarding these cables unfortunately I can not link to them.

The SCP-6 cables are an excellent alternative to DIY wiring. They take a fraction of the time to set up (literally plug and play) and they require far less maintenance than a DIY job. The sound quality is great and the construction is very professional. Highly recommended!

These cables replaced an aging set of pre-terminated Monster cables...the only significant difference...the savings. I did put a touch of silicone sealant on the connector threads, to prevent them from loosening up...but I had done the same to the Monsters...(they had optional connectors, thus, threaded) My "theater" system consists of a Denon 4300 series receiver combined with MISSION 773 speakers, matched surrounds and center...granted, this is a vintage 2001 system...but still sounds great.

This product appearas to be a good value for the money. The 6 foot cables are well made with one exception: The heat shrink/rubber covering between the plug end and the cable solder joint is not actually heat shrunk around the connection. It can be pulled away from the cable exposing the solder connection. Seems like this could be better manufactured to appear as a permanent seal vs. a loosely covered connection. I don't see this design as a huge problem, but compared to other cables, I think it could be improved in this regard.

Spending your money on higher priced cables is ok for some, but do you really need to??? These cables are well made, rugged,durable and offer up a noticeable improvement in performance over regular speaker wire! Banana Plugs have a nice snug fit and give your system a stylish look as well! A Great Buy! Pic shows cable looped to show both ends of the cable!

These are much like Monster cables - well made, flexible, and durable. I was rewiring my AV setup and decided to use better cables, and these fit the bill.

I made an error though, and ordered too many cables. I did not realize that they came in pairs from the wording in the original postings - I think it has been clarified now(I know, my mistake), but just mentioning it so others don't make the same error I did.

One odd thing -the banana plugs kept unscrewing when I was installing them - and I kept tightening them onto the cables. But once installed, they seemed just fine.

Audiophiles believe the sound is better with better cables - I cannot tell the difference - I would love to see a 'blind' test some day. They are bulky, but they do make an elegant installation, and I do not regret getting them.
