By rigidly coupling a loudspeaker enclosure to a floor by means of a "spiking" system, it is possible to dramatically improve clarity, stereo imaging and bass response. This is very apparent with subwoofer systems. These attractive spikes are precision machined from solid brass and then plated with a durable black chrome finish. Each cone spike weighs 86 grams and measures 1-1/4" diameter and 1-1/2" tall. The two piece threaded tip design allows for precise level adjustment. Barbed insert nuts and threaded studs are included for mounting in cabinets with walls up to 1" thick. Set includes 4 black chrome cone spikes, 4 black chrome floor discs, 4 insert nuts and 4 threaded studs. Threads are M6.

I know Dayton makes turntable spikes, but honestly, they didn't look quite 'right' to me. I got these instead, screwed 'em in and sealed 'em on my Kenwood KD-2055 turntable with some contact cement, balanced and rotated everything and it sounds incredible. Less surface noise, clarity I have honestly never heard before, tightness all around.

First I popped on the Sundazed reissue of the first Monkees LP (cuz I'm a Monkee Geek)- first track was "Saturday's Child"- I first noticed the 'inky black' background and I felt my heart race. Then the drums and guitars kicked in and I got a buzz from it. Micky's vocal seemed like he was right there in front of me! I've been a Monkees fan since January of 1986 when I was 13, had this song on countless cassettes, CDs, LPs, 8 track and even reel-to-reel, and this song has never ever sounded so good.

Next was my biggest problem LP- John & Yoko's "Milk & Honey"; "You're the One" seemed to mistrack horridly to my ears, even after all the upgrades- but it sound better with each addition. Now? No mistracking at all. What I'd thought was mistracking on Yoko's vocal was actually some sort of reverb. Granted, it's foolish 1980's reverb, but her vocal sounds a lot clearer than it did before.

Now I'm grooving to the mono Simon & Garfunkel's "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Mrs. Lowery's Seasoning Salt" (!!! LOL) and though it looks like it went thru 'Nam under someone's boot, there's very little surface noise and clarity that wasn't there before (yeah, I say that alot here).

And yes, the "Saturday's Child" buzz hasn't worn off yet. :-D

- Very well constructed and finished. Simply a marvel at the price and jacks up the overall visual quality of the product, no question.

- Does very good coupling to your A/V rack, way better than absorbers, which should be used on the rack, not on the equipment/component. I noticed a cleaner sound, tighter bass, in every install, but it will be component-specific.

-Very nice speaker kit to install on box speaker cabinets.

-Very nice leveler for the spike internally.

- Pads to make sure the spike doesnt move a micron, are included.

RECIEVED YOUR SPEAKER SPIKED FEET ON DEC.19th AND WAS WELL PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY. SINCE I DID NOT WANT TO DRILL HOLES IN MY POLK SUBWOOFER, I WAS FORCED TO THINK OF ANOTHER WAY TO SECURE THE FEET TO THE CABINET. AS I ALSO ORDERED YOUR SMALLER SPIKED FEET, WHICH WAS ALSO OF GREAT QUALITY AND HAD STICKY DISKS TO SECURE THEM TO AUDIO EQUIPMENT BASES, I USED THOSE DISKS. I KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT AS SECURE AS YOUR OTHER HARDWARE THAT CAME WITH THE LARGE SPIKES, BUT WORK WELL NONE THE LESS. PLEASE SUPPLY, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, LARGE STIKEY DISCS FOR YOUR SPEAKER SPIKES IN THE FUTURE. THIS WILL HELP US THAT DON'T WANT TO DRILL. THANKS -GREAT PRODUCT!
