About the Author

Lester A. Reingold has written several hundred articles, most of them dealing with the world of flight. His work has appeared in publications such as Air & Space/Smithsonian, the Washington Post, USA Today, American Heritage of Invention & Technology, and Conde Nast Travelor. He is a commentator on National Public Radio and a feature writer for DiscoveryChannel.com. In 2003, the centennial year of flight, American Heritage Magazine published a profile of Dayton by Reingold that won numerous awards for non-fiction. Reingold is a guest lecturer in the gradute writing program at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a master's in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor's in history, summa cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis.
