This product died on me 2 months after I purchased it. I called tech support 3 times in which I waited up to 55 minutes then gave up. I called customer service and got an answering machine. No one ever called back.

Tried installing on two computers with no luck. Went to Pinnacle website and downloaded driver, still no luck. Clobbered existing USB drivers.

This is a piece of FOD (Foreign Object Debris--destroys jet engines) installation was heinous and never worked even after the 67MB patch download.
DON'T BUY IT!!!! AMAZON...LOSE IT!

I purchased this product originally as a Dazzle 90. After countless hours (yes, hours!) on the phone and emails with tech support at Pinnacle Software, they "upgraded" me free of charge to the Dazzle 120. Trying to get VHS-C tapes to a digitized form in my computer for later manipulation using Magix software. Loading device drivers downloaded from Pinnacle, upgrading USB drivers, downloading patches from Pinnacle, etc, etc, etc. I have never been able to capture more than 30 seconds of film at a time and the program locks up constantly. My computer cannot "find" the Dazzle because of the aforementioned USB issues. Plugging, unplugging, re-booting, etc. This item plainly does not live up to expectations.
The kicker? I called Pinnacle this last week to ask for more help. Their answer? "Oh, you need to go out and buy the new model. It works much better. The old model is no longer supported". Am I going to go out and shell out more money? Not. Stay away from anything that Pinnacle Software puts out and your life will be much less full of headaches and tension (not to mention you'll have the money for an interface that really does work. |
