I selected this item because of the rebate offer that was associated with buying the product. I believe that Dazzle will honour all 3rd party rebates on their site. The product is compact and sleek, and fits nicely on virtually any desktop. I've already tested my SD and CF media and it works great. I'm not such a connaisseur of data transfer speed that I could ascertain Reader --> PC Speed, but I really don't think you could warrant spending more money for only marginal performance increase. I'm very pleased with my purchase and know now that I can accommodate all my digital media (until they come out with something new of course). One note of interest: The little contraption that the reader sits on to give that 'elevated' feel/look is actually not attached to the reader. It's a little add-on piece you use optionally. From all the pictures I'd seen, I'd always assumed it was attached. Just FYI.

No installation necessary with Window XP; reads CompactFlash and SmartMedia, the two formats that I have, without any fusses.

But note:
- There are only two slots (or drives) for all six formats. One slot is for IBM Microdrive and CompactFlash, the other is for four different formats: Smartmedia, Memory Stick, Secure Digital, and MultiMediaCard. So you cannot, say, copy data from MicroDrive to CompactFlash, or copy data from SmartMedia to Memory Stick.
So it's something to consider if you plan to copy data from one format to another. Some other brands provide up to four slots so they may be more versatile.
- The flimsy stand is a joke. I wonder why they bother to include it.

The reader does not read Lexar memory stick. You have to go to the dazzle online to down load the firmware to solve this problem. I only used it to read memory stick. Don't know if it works well with other medias. However, the price is low if the mailing rebate works.

The Dazzle 6-in-one is perfect. I have used it to transfer photos/files from my husband's camera (Sony Memory Stick), from my camera (ComapctFlash), from my Ipaq (SD card), and will try it with my new camera (SD card). It's is way easier than bringing the USB cord and each camera with me. This is one of the best purchases this non-techie has ever made. (I have had this for over 2 years with no problem.)

Simply plug and play. Additionally Dazzle Reader shows up as a separate drive under Window's. Easy to move files back & forth to the reader. Only glich is the stand -- very flimsy.. wish they had a better stand but the product is great and excellent price too .....

This is a great product. I would recommend people to buy dazzle card reader. I had this for over 3 months or so. Have not have any problem. I would say, but this one when a deal come by! DL

An older camera with a serial interface downloaded pictures very slowly (but it had a compactflash card).
This unit, on a very good rebate, was an inexpensive solution to bring the camera into the removable drive approach to moving pictures.
Also moved to a new faster computer under windows XP, which makes installation plug n' play and usage a snap.

This reader (and writer) is absolutely fantastic! I bought this after returning the Biostar 6 in 1 reader from Newe*g. That unit would not read two SmartMedia units I had but the Dazzle knocked it out like a champ. I use it for Compact Flash and SM (4 different brands) and everything works great on the Dazzle. After the rebate the price is hard to beat!!

I bought this to be used with the 256mb CF card I bought for my Cannon A70. I also have a Sony camcorder with a mem stick. This thing read them both with out a hitch. the idea of not using the cameras battery to upload my pictures is very attractive to me. The download rate is very fast. You plug this thing in to Win XP computer and you are done. The drive shows up in your windows explorer. I strongly recommend this.

For this price, I can't think of a single complaint that can be fairly made. This is one of the few combination readers that will accommodate the IBM Microdrive. In addition, with the included software application, it is the only reader that will help with archiving your pics on removable or on fixed media. Nothing like this was available at any price even a year ago.
