I purchased this book for my curriculum at school for my 4 year olds. But my grandson loves it so much that it hasn't made it to school yet. It is one of his daily favorites that we have to read multiple times. I love the informational components (he now knows what tracks, pistons, jacks, etc. are and what they do). I also love the rhyming component. It is a wonderful story especially if your child loves machines.

My son knows this book off by heart. He is nearly two, and he makes me read it over and over. He says the last word of every rhyming page, and is reduced to hysterics by the squelching and glugging comments. He has also learnt all the technical terms for different parts of diggers and he is constantly pointing them out on our journeys.Thank you Tony Mitton and Ant Parker for the hours of fun we have with your brilliant book. I have just ordered Roaring Rockets, and I cannot wait for it to arrive.

Clear, simple pictures accompanied by short, descriptive rhymes puts this book in the top ten for my 2 year old. It helps give a child a feel for language, particularly for synonyms and rhythms. There is sufficient detail for curious questions and bold statements ('a RED digger'). The book playfully teaches the child to match implements to actions.

My twin toddlers love this book. The author has tapped into all their obsessions - diggers, trains, airplanes, fire engines and rockets - in his series. They love the rhymes and the simple text makes it easy for them to join in while you are reading. A real hit with the two year old boy set!

our 2 1/2 year old son is realy enjoying the whole "amazing machines" series. i like them too. they are fun, and the rhymes are clever. they even give me more to talk about with my son when we see different trucks that go by. i can "discuss" the truck parts, and the jobs that the trucks do. in my opinion, a very fun series that has helped me spend quality time with my little truck lover.

Perfect for the toddler set, this book captured the attention of my not quite 2-year old. He loves to point out "diggers" from our car and the book seemed to spark an increase in his vocabulary as he shared his enthusiasm for the book. I can't wait to try other books by this duo.

My son has loved this book since age 20 months. He loves construction sites and this digger book is great. I think it would be slightly better if the illustrations were more realistic because he would enjoy it more. Its a great rhyming story and I am not annoyed reading it several times in a row each day! I'd also recommend the Tractor book in the same series.

I ordered 3 books in this series and all three were a huge hit with my 2-year old grandson. They are age appropriate and the graphics are great.

This book arrived in a very timely manner. The one I ordered seems to be a little older but it is in very good condition and a great book. My 3 year old son loves it!!

This was a gift for a four year old who is fascinated with construction machines and road work. He has added it to his bed time book reading collection.

A great book for little boys (and girls) who like big construction machines.
