4.0 out of 5 stars Delonghi Oven Review
This is a terrific product. It looks great and performs very well. I have used the rotisserie with great success for turkey and roasts of all kinds. I am also using the 'keep warm' feature to keep plates hot while I finish one last thing before I get the whole meal on the table. 1.0 out of 5 stars Needs a longer warranty
We were well pleased with this oven until about 6 months after warranty expired, the oven malfunctioned and wouldn't cut off. I paid too much for this to only use it 18 months. No more Delonghi appliances for me. I replaced it with a Cuisinart, while being smaller, has a 3 year warranty.

I am also using the 'keep warm' feature to keep plates hot while I finish one last thing before I get the whole meal on the table. Lastly, it is so great for holidays because you can bake a pie or other side and keep your regular oven working on the bird. It heats up quickly and is very easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection, December 9, 2004
This review is from: DeLonghi AD1099 Solo Convection Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
This was exactly what my girlfriend and I needed. We have a galley kitchen (read: closet with a sink). Our landlord got this off of eBay for about half price as a refurbished model. When we got it, I knew to expect that the door wouldn't close tightly but found the direction call for the door to be in an open position for a couple of the cooking functions anyway so some heat escape it disireed.

We've cooked pizzas using the pizza function and they come out perfectly using one of the settings. The crust is lightly browned without being hard and is very moist. I cooked some brownies that didn't turn out great, but I think the recipe was the reason they didn't taste good, not the oven.

This is a great little oven that holds a surprising amount of food and doesn't take up a lot of space. In an apartment it is just right. It's nice being able to set the timer and walk away from and come back to find the food finished, not having to hang around and keep an eye on things in case they burn. Also, the light inside is always on when cooking and the glass door allows you to watch the progress with ease. A full size oven (at keast the ones found in apartments) don't have clear glass doors or timers.

I would recommend this to just about anyone, especially single people and seniors.

I mention the price, but I received this as a gift. I can't imagine personally spending this much for a product like this. While this is much larger than the largest toaster ovens, it is considerable smaller than a regular oven. Thus, none of our pans fit in this oven. It looks nice, cooks very well and the controls are fairly self-explanatory and functional. However, I'm still not sure who this product is intended for. If you have this much room in your kitchen, you should probably just get a second built-in stove. If you have a small kitchen, you're going to be seriously challenged to find room for this stove.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great oven, with shut off timer, but, August 7, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: DeLonghi AD1099 Solo Convection Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
Very easy to use and clean and setup and nice looking. This oven will accomodate a full size dinner plate inside, where most toaster ovens will not. The shutoff timer is really great. The only drawback for us is that it needs some insulation. You can pre- heat your dinner plates on top of this oven, no need to put them inside. I suppose that all toaster ovens are like this, they get hot on the outside too. Somewhat a waste of energy, but more efficient than heating a full 30 inch oven to heat something small. We are pleased though, but room for improvement, like everything else, except my Wife.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Cooking Oven, January 9, 2007
This review is from: DeLonghi AD1099 Solo Convection Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
DeLonghi Oven AD1099 cooks as a great second oven. The convection oven cooks evenly, fast and browns roasts great. The broiler works as well. For the price and size of the oven, it's a great value and addition to your kitchen.

I've had this oven for about 2 years now. I really like the Rotisserie function. I use it quite a lot. In my experience the convection setting doesn't reduce cooking time. It would be nice if this also could function as a toaster oven eg make toast, or grilled cheese sandwiches. For the most part I like it; but, I am not overly enthusiastic about it.

There is not enough room here to describe the problems with this piece of junk! Beware. I just wasted $387.00 and no one will help. Stop on door closes to 3" instead of 3/4", outside of oven gets as hot as the inside, minus button for temp and time does not work and the crumb tray is impossible to remove for cleaning. The energy rating for this oven has to be approaching zero.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing oven! I can pretty much quit using my big oven., April 5, 2007

We previously had a small Krups toaster oven, which, while very, very good, was not quite big enough for me. It seemed wasteful to heat up the big oven just to bake six biscuits, or roast a medium sized roast, so we went to this model. What a joy it has been. It takes longer to preheat than my small oven, which makes sense, since it's bigger, duh.

Who the heck thinks this oven is too small? It's huge! I can easily fit a casserole pan inside. The convection feature is fantastic, my buttermilk biscuits have NEVER been so tasty. I can even bake cakes and things of that nature inside. The door seals securely.

I've also broiled duck legs and steaks inside and they turn out juicy.

Unfortunately, I bought the demo model, and some of the pieces for the rotisserie are missing. Delonghi has promised to ship them, and I am crossing my fingers it all works out. If it doesn't, you can be sure I will post here, ripping them mercilessly.

Additionally, this oven is going to allow me to ditch my microwave, which is great, since my foodie self thinks microwaves are kind of tacky. This oven has basically replaced our big oven, which now is only used for cast iron skillet storage.

I don't know how it works for toast, since we have an actual toaster. It seems it'd be rather wasteful to try to use this ginormous oven for toast, but I guess if you were making a ton of toast it would make sense.

I highly recommend this product. I rave about it to everyone I know.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Warranty, February 5, 2007
This review is from: DeLonghi AD1099 Solo Convection Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
I purchased this item from antother very reputable on line retailer. It was missing some parts and had Styrofoam packing lodged behind the circulating fan. Delonghi instructed me to return it to a warranty repair center. It was returned in worse condition with parts missing, and now Delonghi tells me that I have to take up the issue with UPS. Their warranty is less than "lip service".
