so-so, but looks good,

I had a hard time finding a toaster that could accomodate my long slices (do manufacturers really expect everyone to only eat wonderbread-sized slices?) and that would look cool on my countertop. This one does both, BUT it toasts unevenly - one side gets more than the other, and the lift is a joke. I still burn my fingers when I try to fish out small pieces. The problem is there are not many other toasters out there that can fulfill my criteria. If you know of any, let me know, I'd gladly trade up from this one. Until then I'll stick with this one. The chrome finish after a couple of years is a bit off for some reason.

I paid $79.95 a few months ago. I liked it. Now it's $39.95.BUY TWO, give one to a friend. Looks good, works great. Four slices, all equally well toasted. The extra-lift lever gets that bagle or English muffin out where you can grab it. No tongs needed. First toaster that I ever owned that drew envious glances, from a MAN!

I Like This Toaster!!,
This review is from: DeLonghi CT54 Chrome 4-Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
I purchased this toaster because I was in the market specifically for a toaster with two long, wide, deep slots because the items I toast often have irregular shapes. If you have looked for such a toaster you probably know there are not many on the market. I've used this toaster for over two weeks now and I am very pleased. It does what it is supposed to do, toast bread evenly and dependably. It is solidly built and well thought out. I have every reason to expect it to have a long operating life.

Big mistake - should have listened to other reviews,

I can't get a good peice of toast, bagel, or waffle out of this thing to save my life. My whole family hates this toaster. Food comes out either raw or burnt, and nothing in between. You ablolutely must hover over this thing as it cooks. The only pro I can offer is the size and shape of the slots. It's a very versitile way of ruining almost any kind of bread.

Toasting is uneven across each side and from one side to the other. Toasting is also inconsistent from one use to another. Can't depend on the settings giving consistent results. Worse design aspect is that you need to use two hands to remove your toast most of the time, per the design the toast does not fully elevate when done. You need to hold the lever up while you remove the toast. I hate this product and wish I could return it for a full refund. But yes, it looks good. Lesson learned, never buy a product that does not offer a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.
