5.0 out of 5 stars Toast size matters
With my last 3 toasters I have had to rotate the toast half way through toasting to be sure the top 20% of the slice was done. This time I decided to get the toaster with the largest toasting depth. Unfortunately that dimension is not defined in any toaster specs. that I could find. Therefore I visited every store appliance store in our area and measured the effective...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK
My old DeLonghi finally broke after many years of good service, and I wanted another 4-slice toaster in stainless steel, so naturally I selected this one. It's OK but some earlier reviewers were correct -- it tends to toast the bread a little too light, and I don't mean only frozen bread or bagels. It's adequate and I love how it looks, but I keep it on the highest...

5.0 out of 5 stars Toast size matters, March 15, 2008
This review is from: De'Longhi CTH2003 2-Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
With my last 3 toasters I have had to rotate the toast half way through toasting to be sure the top 20% of the slice was done. This time I decided to get the toaster with the largest toasting depth. Unfortunately that dimension is not defined in any toaster specs. that I could find. Therefore I visited every store appliance store in our area and measured the effective toasting depth on every display model. Most toasters have a toasting depth of 4.0 ins. to 4.25 ins. The DeLonghi has a toasting depth of 5.0 ins. I bought it and my toasting problem has been solved.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Toaster, July 8, 2007
After many years of having a toaster oven, I finally got sick of the mess of it and decided to go with a toaster instead. My husband actually picked this one because of reviews he had read on it. I love several of the features on it. You have a defrost cycle for your frozen items that works perfectly on bagels. Then there is the bagel setting that only toasts the inside parts of the bagel, which keeps the crust soft. While I will admit it took several tries to figure out the way to put the bagels in for this feature....once you get it ...you'll love it. I finally have perfect toast, bagels and waffles. I also love to crumb trays....so easy to clean.

It's OK but some earlier reviewers were correct -- it tends to toast the bread a little too light, and I don't mean only frozen bread or bagels. It's adequate and I love how it looks, but I keep it on the highest setting and sometimes have to pop the toast back down for a second time.

5.0 out of 5 stars great toaster, great price, February 18, 2007

Looked at all the expensive $250+ toasters and decided to take a chance on this one, it has performed perfectly! (got free super saver shipping) Put in 4 slices and they all come out toasted the same, defrosts bagels perfectly, clean design and the blue leds are cool. Knobs at first looked like plastic (really smooth finish), but are metal (cast zinc, I think) as advertised. Replaces my 8 yr old 2 slot Delonghi that was crome plated and showed signs of rust (kept it next to the sink), but after 8 yrs it still worked perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toaster (I've tried several), May 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Toaster works well. But the toaster arrived with small dents and scratches so I suspect it was a used/returned toaster.

However, I returned the toaster (my first return with Amazon) and it was surprisingly easy and they quickly shipped me a new one in perfect condition. So despite this negative review initially it has turned out to be a positive for Amazon as I was surprised how easy it was to return items. (They supply a UPS slip for return and UPS picks it up or you can drop it off)

SHOP WITH CONFIDENCE USING AMAZON.....

will update this review if I have any problems with this new toaster. I say if you like the look of this toaster, take a chance, it's easy to return items using Amazon (much to my surprise)

UPDATE.....changed my rating to five stars. No complaints with this toaster, I've used it constantly for six months. (apparently I got lucky since it seems quality control on pretty much all toasters is lacking based on other reviews I've read.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful Toaster!, May 2, 2009
This review is from: De'Longhi CTH2003 2-Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
This replaced a Krups toaster that found it difficult to toast anything evenly. After dealing with this ridiculous toaster I wish I'd kept the Krups. Not only does this not toast anything evenly- it doesn't toast anything consistently! Further, the high profile and high heat it generates started melting the upper cabinet melamine surface so it has to be moved out from under the cabinet before toasting!

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not toast evenly, September 28, 2008
This review is from: De'Longhi CTH2003 2-Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
I have always liked Delonghi toasters. But, this one does not toast the bread evenly. One side of toast is not toasted when the other side is ready. I have to change bread sides during the toasting process and this is cumbersome.

I thought that this (a 2 slicer)would be the answer to "my prayers for a perfect toaster." it isn't. I thought that it had long slots for bakery bread, it doesn't. the wide slots do not toast both sides the same on "regular" width bread. It does toast, sort of ok. But it is not up to what I expected from my experience with other DeLonghi products I have purchased. Really disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toaster!, September 8, 2007
This review is from: De'Longhi CTH2003 2-Slice Toaster (Kitchen)
This is a great toaster, it is well made and goes well with other stainless steel. I call it the Hummer of toasters because it is rather large in size, but I would still buy it again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Product, April 17, 2010
This toaster after a week or two sltarted toasting on one side, then after 7 months the one side strtes ignoring the number dial so hs to be pushed down several times and soon thereafter would not hold the bread at all. The other side of this toaster simply locked up so we trashed it.
