I have celiac disease so I make my own pancakes, freeze them individually and then toast them in my 2 slice toaster. I disagree with the reviewer who said the slots don't hold items securely. My pancakes are never the same size as they are handmade but I have no trouble removing them because the lift up mechanism brings them high up enough to remove. They are at most 2 to 3 inches in diameter in size so they are not large and they vary in thickness but again no problem to remove. I bless the cool side feature so you never burn yourself if you are in a hurry and not paying attention to what you are doing. I purchase in bulk home made gluten free rolls, sandwich bread, bagels and muffins from a talented wonderful woman who bakes exclusively for the celiac disease group and I have frozen everything and individually defrost and toast these items succesfully in this toaster with no problem. One caveat for this toaster. I would have given it five stars but it is difficult to clean the insides of the toaster from stuck on crumbs. I am NOT speaking of the pull-out crumb tray which is easy to manipulate and clean.

This toaster is beautiful but when taking the toast out you burn your fingers because it doesn't come up high enough. The kids pop tarts fall through and the bottom doesn't open so you have a very hard time getting them out. The side pieces don't hold anything tight so the waffles come out bent in half and not done, same with the toast not standing up makes for uneven toasting. K

Looks like the picture. Works fine. Was looking for ages for just a toaster that was a modern style but not a major appliance with a bunch of features. This is great.

This product is complete garbage. I have already replaced it!! I will never buy a DeLonghi product again!!

The product & service were excellent. I received the item before Christmas even though I had ordered it late...a nice surprise.
