For $50 you can't beat this as a basic fryer, especially if purchasing for a smaller household. The capacity is enough to cook for 2 or 3 at a time, the unit is well-designed and solidly built, and even though it lacks a temperature control it heats the oil to 375 degrees (I checked with a cooking thermometer) which is what most recipes seem to recommend. The filter system works well to contain odors and the drainage tube makes cleaning a breeze. The only issue I've had is that it's hard to avoid condensation on the viewing window, but that's no big deal. Highly recommended.

Nice looking; works and feels like it is not cheap; operation is easy and properly engineered. A press button raises the lid, fit the basket into the slot and close the lid before lowering the basket (see photo with lid up and handle out that I added). Then lower the basket safely so there is no spattering. This model does not allow varying temperatures, a light on the lower section lets you know when it is ready and cooking is controlled by time. The instructions are very helpful, their recommendation to cook potatoes in two parts allowing the oil to reheat up again in the middle works very well. The drain tube is very easy to use and a great feature. Relatively easy to clean. A basket of fries can feed 3 to 4 people. Not a lot of smoke or smell when operating.

We could have double the price for a built in timer and variable temperature settings, but we are happy with this and feel we got very good value for the money ($50).

despite the lack of fancy features such as adjustable tempreture and timer, this fryer has outstanding air filter and oil drain that takes the pain out of deep frying. It's practically odor free compared to our previous fryer with fancy features. being able to lift the basket without opening the lid also helps contain the greasy air. highly recommended.

We purchased this Fryer a few weeks ago and have used it over 10 times. We LOVE it!!! The only downside is the "viewing" window isn't really functional unless you want to hold a flashlight in one hand. Many many positives which include: 1. easy to clean, easy to use, easy to drain oil. 2. Well built 3. compact 4. safe This size works great! We LOVE it!

This is a very basic, but well made machine. Many deep fryers in this price range are built very flimsy, with lids that don't close properly or brake off easily. (See how often the display model in the store typically has a broken lid !!!) This one seems more substantial, and feels like it will hold up to everyday use. One drawback is the lack of a temperature adjustment, which most fryers have, but I'll trade this for the better construction anyday.

Nice fryer. Had to return two Rivals-they quit either on the first use or the second.
I really like the cleaning/drain system. Don't have to try to pour bucket of oil into bottle/can.
Two related disadvantages though. The quick release magnetized plug at the back comes off too easily. Sometimes it looks connected, but it isn't. Have to wiggle it a little. Also, it only has a light that goes out when the operating temp is reached, not a power light. So, if your operating temp is reached and the power cord becomes disconnected, you can't tell the power is off when the temp falls below the proper operating level. I've had it become disconnected without touching/moving the fryer. This requires you to constantly wiggle the plug at the back to make sure the connection is made.
I think for the next use, I'll try cleaning the contacts thoroughly.

How many times have you put frozen mozzarella sticks or frozen onion rings in the microwave? Mushy right? No more. This fryer is a blessing and my kids love it. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, fries and more all come out crunchy in about 2-3 minutes. The cleaning is so easy, and take it from someone who hates to clean but all you have to do is use the little hose that comes out of the fryer, point it into a bottle or bowl to save the oil, wipe the inside of fryer clean with a damp paper towel, then yhou're set for the next time with clean oil and clean fryer. I use the oil about 3-4 times then I dispose of it. It holds a good amount of food and when I fry pieces of chicken, I find it better to put the chicken in the fryer upside down. This way, less bread crumbs fall off and the chicken tastes better. I already recommended this fryer to my friend for an X-mas gift for his wife and for the price from Amazon, it's the best deal on the web or anywhere else, and believe me I researched fryers for a long time before buying this one. You'll be thrilled with it. Don't hesitate to buy it.

We've had several deep fryers of the style, including DeLonghi. I had higher expectations for this item because of past experiences with DeLonghi. First, the pros...The exterior and handle stay cool to the touch. it has an red light that turns off when the oil is hot. (Actually it turns off or on depending if the unit is being heated or not). Flip up lid has a strong spring. (Almost too strong). This unit has a great capacity. It feels well built and very sturdy. I haven't used the drain spout yet, but if it works like past fryers, it will take the mess out of draining the oil. Now for the cons, I don't have a thermometer, but the unit seems to be under-heating. It results in soggier items. It really needs an adjustable thermostat. Also, the small (approx. 18") power cord has a magnet connection. It really needs a stronger magnet. It can be a nuisance to try and hook up.
Overall, for a big fryer, this has nice features, such as, the drain spout, spring-loaded lid, and strong well-built unit.

I couldn't believe the ease and quality of this fryer. We made the best french fries ever!!! Easy to use and easy clean up. We had a Fry Daddy and this fries rings around it!!! :-) When we emptied the oil, we found out..we had almost as much as we started with...thus great NON-GREASY fries. Can't wait to try other foods...but 5 stars for the fries. Plus...we were able to make fries for a crowd... really quickly. Would definitely recommend!

This deep frier has so far been great. Easy to use, top quality materials. From the picture I expected it to have a timer, but it does not. Simply use a microwave or kitchen timer instead and consult the handbook for time for certain foods. The tube makes removing oil easy, but it's still a messy clean-up because of all the grease and left-over food bits - hard to get the full bowl in the sink & scrub the net.

Keep in mind that you will need 2 liters of oil on hand if you ever want to use it. You can reuse the oil that's left after a frying session, though it isn't the most appetizing reuse.

Overall, it's simply the process of deep frying that can a bit messy, but this deep frier is so far great in function, material, and a nice looking piece of kitchenware.
