hot coffee, little broken plastic parts, December 5, 2004
Wouldn't it be nice if someone from the maker of this coffee pot actually read the reviews customers submitted? My husband and I bought this coffee maker about 18 months ago, and it did quite well. We make coffee every morning, so we've now used the pot hundreds of times. The timer feature is great, and so is the automatic shutoff. But a little plastic latch which holds the filter basket shut has broken. So now my nice black coffee maker has to be held shut with an enormous red rubber band. And of course, it's no longer under warranty.

DeLonghi Parts, January 26, 2006
I loved my coffee pot up until yesterday morning when I went to open the basket and a little plastic piece broke off so now the basket won't stay shut. I noticed someone else also had the same problem.
Time to call BeLonghi and let them know!!

Looks good on the counter, that's about it, January 3, 2007
Like many other reviewers, we bought this coffee maker because of the sleek design and price. The filter basket has been a continual struggle - water gets caught up in the basket and causes overflowing which results in coffee grinds everywhere. There is nothing more frustrating than to set the timer at night and wake up to a big mess of coffee grinds and water. After about 18 months of use, it has finally died...probably due to the repeated overflow. I won't be purchasing a DeLonghi to replace it.
