I'm very unhappy with this coffeemaker, the coffee is lukewarm and the brewing time is very long. I have e-mailed the maker this a.m. with my concerns.

I've had my Delonghi Caffe Elite for over 5 years now and it's the best coffee maker I've owned yet. It may have just reached the end of its useful life as today the auto shut off function doesn't seem to be working. I will have the machine checked out to see if it needs to be retired. What's great is that the machine has been used to make two or three pots a day every day since I bought it. I grind my coffee before each use, clean the machine once every couple of months and the coffee is still as excellent as when I got the machine and that's saying a lot. My last decent coffee maker was a Krups and by the second year the coffee wasn't tasting the same nor good, and it never was as good tasting as the coffee from my Delonghi machine was so it was replaced. The Delonghi has been reliable and is robustly made although it appears quite simple and elegant in its design. I've not experienced any breakages or any other problems that have been noted by others and I strongly recommend this over any Mr. Coffee or Krups coffee makers. This is one of the great machines that makes real honest to goodness coffee junkie Java!

My husband and I received this as a wedding gift, and after a year (we used it about 10 times as we don't drink a lot of coffee), the latch that holds the area for the coffee grounds closed broke. It won't stay closed for anything and there is no way to fix it. I'm very disappointed.

I LOVE COFFEE. Fix that - I love GOOD coffee.

I used to have a Mr. Coffee coffeemaker for about 10 yrs, & it finally died. So, I bought another one. They didn't have the same one anymore, so I bought the one most similar to what I had. Ugh... it made the WORST coffee. It was all watery, & if you tried to compensate by adding more grounds, or making the grind just a bit finer, it would clog up, & overspill from the top.

So, I gave that replacement Mr. Coffee coffeemaker away. I woulda paid for someone to take it, really. I'd rather go without coffee than to have to look at the sad excuse for a coffeemaker.

I was complaining about my lack of coffee at brunch one Sunday, & my dear friend said her sis just got this DeLonghi coffeemaker as a gift from her job, & didn't need it. So, they gave it to me.

I've had this for over 2 yrs now, & I LOVE this DeLonghi coffeemaker. I haven't used the programmable function yet, but love that I can if I wanted to. Love that it shuts itself off in 2 hrs, b/c everyone forgets to turn it off every now & then.

I LOVE the brew select button. It DOES make the difference. I can actually taste the difference if I use it or not (stronger cup if you use it; or I won't use it if I'm making for company who don't want the stronger cup).

Bottom line..... IT MAKES GREAT COFFEE. My coffee tastes better than ANY coffee-house coffee I've ever had! Isn't good coffee really all you want from a coffee maker?

We've had to replace the carafe once already due to the functional bump on the lid breaking, and it has just broken again, spurring us to shop for other coffee makers rather than feed it another whole new carafe. However, right now it seems like there just aren't many mid-priced models out there without design or manufacturing problems. The DC76T has been pretty reliable, doesn't dribble or leak, still working after about 4 years of at-least daily use. So until another well-rated model comes along, we'll stick with this one. After searching around, I found a parts site that sells not only reasonably-priced carafes but also just the lids, so we will have a couple of backups for about ten dollars, cheaper than ordering a new carafe and less wasteful too.

After two years, the plastic tab that locks in the filter basket broke, requiring tape or a rubber band to keep the filter basket in place. 6 months later, the small dome on the plastic lid broke, preventing the coffee from leaving the filter basket, so coffee and grounds overflow all over the counter. This coffee maker is classic "made in China" shoddiness.

I had this coffeemaker for almost two years and it still works as new! I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond and it was a display (last one)! After almost two years of every day usage it still makes a hot, very tasty cup of coffee!

It's been five years now and this coffeemaker reached its limit I guess, it started leaking but still makes a great cup of coffee! I'm buying another Delonghi product, just newer model and with an aroma button which makes a big difference in the taste!

I am not suggesting this coffee maker. I had it for a few months and it is falling apart! Lights are not working any more, heat is not enough and...

This DeLonghi model comes with a brew strength selector that actually makes a difference in the flavor of your favorite grind--it works!

Other brands offer such features that do not alter the strength of the brew. So it's worthwhile to note that this idea has come to fruition.

The DC76T is easy to clean and does so with detachable parts.

Possesses the pause & serve feature and when you are in a hurry for that first sip this is envaluable.

I had this coffee maker for three years or so and unfortunately it just bit the dust. While it was working it made perfectly decent coffee (ALWAYS use the brew-select button) but now the door holding the coffee grounds doesn't close because the latch broke.

We're too broke right now to get a new coffee maker, so we're using duct-tape to keep the door closed in the meantime.

While it was working it was alright though -- not great, just alright.
