This review is from: DeLonghi DCF2210TTC 10-Cup Thermal Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, Black (Kitchen)
I replaced our old basic coffee machine because after 10 years, the carafe began to leak when you pour. Unfortunately, the new one leaks more! Coffee brews slowly (I like stronger coffee so I use the aroma button) and it could be hotter but really no complaints with the coffee once you get some in your cup. I have tried aligning the arrows, opening the lid a little more, opening a little less. but the carafe just leaks when you pour into your coffee cup unless you completely remove the lid. Pass on this one unless you have alot of patience and don't mind wiping the counter after you pour.

I have had this Coffee maker for about a month now and really like the way it performs. The coffee brews slowly with the aroma button on and it comes out strong (be sure to set the timer about 20 mins before you get up and you will be fine.) It fits well under my counter and I do not have to slide it out to fill each time which is a nice feature. This would be a five star coffee maker if it did not take so long to fill your cup. With the arrows aligned on the carafe it just pours out slowly. If you try to rush it by tipping the carafe too much it dribbles all over the counter. The only thing you can do is to take the lid off and pour. The thermal carafe does keep the coffee hot 2-3 hours after brewing and warm most of the day. Overall I like this coffee maker and if it would only pour out faster it would be perfect.

I bought this coffee maker prior to any written reviews because I was replacing a DeLonghi DCM485, which was absolutely great, thinking this would be an appropriate replacement. The new unit makes 'reasonably' good coffee. I played with the settings, but still cannot replicate the coffee from the DCM485 model. The coffee is still decent, but unfortunately, the carafe is completely useless. You cannot pour from the carafe, with the top on, without spilling and taking a painfully long time. As another reviewer asked, did they ever test this? I'm a DeLonghi fan, but after just one month, I'm looking for a replacement and this unit will be donated to charity for someone with more patience and a lot of paper towels.

Thermal carafe, barely.,

Okay, so I'm basically pleased with this coffee maker. The point that keeps bugging me is the thermal carafe. It is thermal only by the strict definition. The carafe doesn't keep the coffee warm. It cools much quicker than any other carafe I've owned. I've been tempted to use the old carafe from a dead coffee maker. If you find this machine cheap, go ahead and get it. If I had known about the carafe, I would have passed.

Poorly designed screw top - Stainless steel thermos,

Two major flaws with this coffee maker;
1. Screw top only allows coffee to trickle out. You must remove top entirely in order to pour coffee like a normal coffee maker. Didn't the designers ever test this thing?? 2. Stainless steel thermos does not keep coffee hot for very long. Metal radiates heat very well!! (Duh!) My old Braun coffee maker, with a glass thermos, would keep coffee hot for a couple of hours, just like a glass thermos bottle.

Like the front access. We use the AROMA feature always. Coffee's great.
Replaced our 4 cup with the 10 cup thermal. Being retired "We" only make 1 pot a day instead of 2 or 3 4-cup pots. The lid's POUR position does not allow the coffee to pour quickly. We used that position for a day or two. We now take the lid off and pour. Update 5-10-2011: After 1 month when taking the pot out for a cup before the brewing was finished, the shutoff valve would stick in the open position and coffee would run out while pouring a cup. The piece of plastic that controls the valve becomes rough with the plastic base of the container and the spring pressure was not enough to force the shutoff lever to operate. The past two weeks when we make coffee each day, and not removing the pot during brewing, we end up with about 1/2 a cup of coffee on the counter top each time. I watched with a flash light and the coffee appears to be going into the lid normally. I brewed w/o the lid on to eliminate the lid's valve and I still get about 1/2 a cup on the counter top. Not sure where its coming from.Love the design, but I would not recommend this coffee pot!!

I just received and tested this thermal carafe coffee maker from Delonghi. After doing a lot research, comparing prices, reviews, features, etc. I decided to go with this one, 2 main reasons: stainless steel carafe and brand. I thought if worse come to worse, I can always return it! after all is just a coffee maker. My thoughts/impressions so far:
If you like new, modern design, practicality and something sturdy, this one is for you, it feels heavy and is not your average size typical coffee maker. The fact that the water tank access/coffee filter is on the front makes it very practical and sets it apart from the rest, major plus. The "thermal" carafe basically is a stainless steel carafe only, which I think is a little deceiving on item desription, it may be double-walled or not, I am not sure but I always thought that by definition, a thermos container should have a layer of sorts like a glass envelope which is what keeps liquids hot/cold. I am not sure how long this carafe will keep coffee hot or if it will keep it hot longer than your typical glass tempered carafe, either way, it doesn't bother that much, since what I was looking for was something that would last longer than glass, eventually liquids get cold regardless of thermal feature or not. The other thing I noticed, and this might be a minus in regards to how long liquid will remain hot in "thermal carafe", coffee doesn't brew as hot, or it may be just me remembering read reviews, but I guess in order to get "coffee" out of grinded beans, water needs to be at a certain temperature, right? I sitll do not understand how some people like it scalding/burning hot, you still have to wait till it cools down a little in order to drink it. -The level of water is a little hard to tell since glass is sort of frosted ( right side) but if you pay close attention you can tell how much water you are using. when pouring coffee, and this is where I see some annoyance, coffee doesn't flow as freely, even if you align arrows (by instructions)but still flows, so is just a matter of patience. -timer works as it should. - Aroma buttom worked as well, but it all depends of the quality of coffee you use, mine came out dark and full since I only use freshly grinded coffee, not the canned type, gross! -Longevity, will see, after all, nothing lasts forever! Overall this a very sophisticated looking coffee maker, it does what is suppossed to do, coffee, and last, the feature on top is nice, it keeps mugs (2) a little warm by the steam this coffee maker produces while brewing.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this coffee maker. The first thing that happened to me was that I put in slightly more than 10 cups of water (because it's so hard to see the level of the water) and coffee overflowed all over the place. That took 3 days to figure out. The other major problem is that you have to take the top off to pour the coffee into your cup. And then putting the lid back on the thermos is no easy task either. Stay away from this coffee maker.

I read a lot of reviews on this coffee maker before purchasing. Many of them complain about a skimpy pour that when tilted more causes a spill. Here is the trick. Line up the arrow with the spillway. Grasp the lid and pull up. This opens a larger space to pour out of and voila a near perfect pour. I do like this thermal coffee maker for the price. My last one was a Cuisinart, however, I could not afford that model this time around. I always use the Aroma setting. It takes a bit longer but makes a better cup. The thermal carafe does not keep the coffee hot long enough in my opinion. I like to pour a cup throughout the morning and by the last cup I have warm coffee not hot. All-in-all the brew is good for the price.

Love that you can fill sighting dragging machine across your counter. The indicator "window" is made of frosted plastic making it nearly impossible to read. You actually cannot see how much water you are pouring into this coffee maker. This is why I could not give it more stars. I use a measuring cup to get the correct amount of water. A very annoying extra step.
