we just got this dehumidifier yesterday. We had been having a problem with our new vinyl windows haveing some condensation along the bottom, and the installer recommended a dehumidifier. Set up was quick, just plug it in and go. the default humidity setting is 60%, but you can change that to as low as 30%, in 5 degree increments. two fan settings. the fan does run all the...

Lasted one year
Our DeLonghi dehumidifier performed sort of acceptably, though not especially well, for slightly over a year - that is, until slightly past the expiration of the full warranty. After that, the 'full tank' shutoff control ceased to function, remaining locked in 'full' mode, sounding a continuous alarm, and shutting off any dehumidification. This control had been...

This review is from: DeLonghi DDE50E 50-Pint Capacity Dehumidifier (Kitchen)
Our DeLonghi dehumidifier performed sort of acceptably, though not especially well, for slightly over a year - that is, until slightly past the expiration of the full warranty. After that, the 'full tank' shutoff control ceased to function, remaining locked in 'full' mode, sounding a continuous alarm, and shutting off any dehumidification. This control had been dubious for some time, and required careful positioning of the tank, sometimes repeated repositioning, in order for the unit to operate. All in all, a substandard product.

Don't buy from company, April 16, 2007
This review is from: DeLonghi DDE50E 50-Pint Capacity Dehumidifier (Kitchen)
Power board failed within a couple years of purchase. Company won't help and independent service centers don't even like dealing with them. Apparently, Delonghi, never heard of service after the sale. Customer support people were rude and made me feel like they were doing me a favor talking with me. I will never buy another product from this manufacturer and highly recommend you don't either.

we just got this dehumidifier yesterday. We had been having a problem with our new vinyl windows haveing some condensation along the bottom, and the installer recommended a dehumidifier. Set up was quick, just plug it in and go. the default humidity setting is 60%, but you can change that to as low as 30%, in 5 degree increments. two fan settings. the fan does run all the time, which does help to circulate the air. It also displays the actual relative humidity in the room, and what humidity you have it set on.
the unit is not real loud, you can carry on a conversation, but its distracting. emptying the bucket isnt too bad, but it beeps until you return the bucket to the back. Since starting it up yesterday afternoon, it has removed 3 quarts of water from our 1600 sq foot home, it has dropped the humidity from 60% to 40% in the bedrooms at the other end of the house, and the windows only had a sliver of condensation on them this morning.
So, so far this unit is working well and removing the humidity rather quickly!
Lory
